  1. Old Boxy or New Boxy? He's a changed man..
  2. Just draft him and then trade him to Gibbers!
  3. Yeah in hindsight you probably could have gotten a lot more for #3 than it ended up being worth. It was hard to judge though because Olivera could have signed at any moment before the draft. It was probably worth holding on to it just for that chance. There was also a guy that Yahoo probably should have had in the system...
  4. I still think it's a viable strategy for a team that is either rebuilding or wants to take a specific high upside gamble. Marcum Semien went @ 21 and he's a nice pickup for any rebuilding team. Could be a long term infielder. Hunter Strickland and Jacob Lindgren strike me as guys that have a chance to be special - potential keeper quality relievers. But, having just praised the Strickland pick, TheHurl is also the cautionary tale. Broxton, Holdzkom, Pierce Johnson, and Jordy Mercer all taken between #6 and #26.... I'm just not sure that there's anything there at all.

Just flat out incompetent. You could pay a team $10M to take Phaneuf and it would probably be a good deal.
  6. There's no such thing as late in the waiver draft. The waiver draft is a flat circle.
  7. My speculative trade candidate adds in Chris Stewart and Jeff Petry paid off, I guess. Look out for me in the playoffs!
  8. I took Jason Grilli. jaysblue up and we're almost done 94 JB 95 ZRO 96 BOX 97 BTS 98 TRM 99 FTD 100 N49
  9. You'd be hard pressed to find anybody under 50 that doesn't enjoy watching Puig play.

  12. Therapist says I keep people at a distance as a defense mechanism.
  13. I kind of feel the same way. It would be nice if he could turn into a reliable veteran 1B/DH for few more years, thereby blocking Greg Bird's path to playing time.
  14. lol actually it's entirely possible that Tampa sees Rivera as the most valuable piece that they got
  15. That explains half of the trade. They still picked Souza as the big piece back for some reason or another.

  17. what's the logic behind providing a weighted mean of percentile chance outcomes?
  18. Or they are using PECOTA: http://i.imgur.com/BqbjJsP.png
  19. Apparently the Rays are using slightly outdated Steamer information
  20. Yeah, the trade is largely Pompey for Souza IMO. Souza's ZiPS and Steamer are both pretty pedestrian now actually. I think his Steamer changed. AJ Cole is an unfortunately promoted prospect who had little value to me, marginal trade value, but could have a lot of value for a rebuilder like KK. Span ended up being very good last year but KK will need to find a flip partner.
