Remember when you ordered chicken fingers to go as an adult male and then sat at the table for 30 more minutes and ate them out of the bag? awkward

Hi, Rick Nash is basically on a SH% surge and he should cool way down by the time fantasy playoffs roll around. I will not attempt to defend my draft. I basically ruined my long term strategy by getting too click happy and landing a couple of players I had no real interest in owning. Although I did want Hiller.

Yeah, you can't just snap a finger and make guys like Phaneuf and Kessel good defensive players. If the Leafs could go back in time and just magically not give the contracts to Phaneuf and Clarkson they wouldn't be in such a terrible position.... For me, it all comes down to Centremen for Toronto, just like it has for years. In terms of defensive play, nobody has a bigger impact on the ice than a team's centreman. Bozak can win draws but that's about it, and even then 52% isn't elite or anything (last year he was below 50%). He's ridden Kessel to almost all of his points. He is and always has been a miscast 3rd line C. I bet like 1/2 of his shots this year are rebounds off of Kessel shots, lol (probably why his Shooting% is always high but his shot total is always sort of low). Kadri should be on a wing. This is obvious, right?
  4. just ban spanky already. clown bike...
  5. Not sure if anyone noticed but Erik Bedard basically said that he'd like to end his career playing in Canada for Toronto. I wonder if he'd be willing to compete for a swing man gig, maybe stomach being in Buffalo for a little bit.... Outside chance to start some games if there are injuries.
  6. It's not really a question with an answer. A high walk rate can be part of a recipe for sustainable success if your high K rate is sustainable... with Delabar, he unfortunately lost a couple of ticks off the top end of his fastball between 2013 and 2014, so there went a lot of his strikeout power. He then had to rely more heavily on his nasty splitter to get strikeouts but that's not really a zone pitch, so you can see the related jump in walk rate. It all added up to ineffectiveness. CH% (split) 2013 = 12.5% 2014 = 19.5% Max FAv 2013 = 97.8 2014 = 95.6 FA O-swing% 2013 = 29.9% 2014 = 24.5% FA Contact% 2013 = 71.3% 2014 = 82.4% FA swstr% 2013 = 13.7% 2014 = 8.4% His splitter peripherals for the most part were the same in 2014 as they were in 2013. His zone% with the fastball was also actually slightly higher in 2014, surprisingly. What it all came down to, it seems, is that his fastball went from a power pitch that got whiffs, to a very seeable and hittable offering. People laid off of it outside the zone and hammered it when it was in the zone. Motherf***ing 34.8% LD% off his fastball.....
  7. Peter posts on Orioles Hangout, duh...
  8. If we're being real, the monetary value of having a good team president between now and 2018 would far exceed to expected monetary value of a piece like Jeff Hoffman. It's more about the established market than anything. Good executives worth millions like Theo Epstein have been "traded" for basically nothing in the past.
  9. Stupid compensation rumours aside, I don't think you can understate the probable positive effect of swapping Beeston for Duquette. Beeston is a dinosaur now and you can see small glimpses everywhere of how his presence and influence is more of a hurdle than a help. Duquette is 13 years younger and is presently a very competent GM, so on the baseball ops side of things there should be a huge improvement. Can we give Beeston any credit for the uniform change and setting in motion the real grass process?
  10. Yeah it would be pretty bad.

Why do you do that? Nobody thinks it's funny
  13. I think he's very good, but he's pitched basically every other game for the last five years and he'll make like 8M this season... I don't really think he should have substantial trade value. Small asset at best.
  14. wow sick flow http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/files/2014/05/NS_17RANGD_36587813-620x387.jpg
  15. Probably signs with the Yanks before July 2nd.
  16. Freddie got fingered. Poor Fred. $135m / 8 Years (2014 - 2021) signed by Atlanta Braves on 2/5/2014 Have fun on the super awesome John Hart scorched earth tour for the next 7 years, Fred!
  17. IIRC I voted Tanaka in your poll but I didn't actually read your entire post which indicated at the end that we were considering salaries.
  18. Well I wouldn't say nothing of real value. Folty has big warts but he reminds me of Eovaldi back in 2012 when he was part of the Hanley trade and everyone just assumed he was nothing because his peripherals had never been that good.
  19. Braves offense is now so so bad Markakis Upton Freeman Johnson/Callaspo/Peterson Callaspo/Peterson/Peraza Andrelton Bethancourt Ziolo Almonte/Toscano/whatever Alberto Callaspo might be their 3rd best hitter....
  20. Because Jon Singleton is basically a replacement level player?
  21. If I had to guess, I'd say the compensation package/player will be good enough to annoy the overly-sensitive portion of the Blue Jays fan base, but still worth basically nothing. Maybe some relief prospect like Rasmussen or Stilson.
  22. Wait, didn't I trade some middling MLB pick upgrade to you in order to get Mejia? I bet you regret that one
