  1. Holy crap Ehlers has hands. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gotta-see-it-ehlers-crazy-ambidextrous-dekes/ Natural switch hitter. I used to play rep with a gifted hands guy like that who could play with both hands. Guy could do everything, one timers, toe drags, pick corners, just as good with both sides. He also homered off of me in the house league baseball all star game from his 'wrong' side.
  2. Dumb early roster decisions last year included: Esmil on team Kratz optioned, Thole on team McGowan starter Sierra on team? Eight relievers. Is that it? Anyway, expect more of the same. I wouldn't even be shocked to see AA do something as dumb as waive Smoak and anoint Navarro the DH.
  3. Gibbons doesn't make that decision. Managers will always want the best 25.
  4. Toronto has a thorough track record of taking the guys without options North, unless the talent or performance gap is huge.
  5. So did Alex Wood in the East; I think he'd probably be a serviceable #4/5.
  6. I really don't think they would trade Lind for Estrada if they didnt think Estrada could still start.
  7. lol oh man. Must be confused with Sanchez, but still. What?
  8. Not really larger rosters necessarily, but more starting spots since a bench is useless. You lock rosters after the draft so there are no lineup changes, adds, drops, or trades. Roto, obviously.
  9. Shoot me an idea without mentioning Urias. Or, a crazy one mentioning him... Whatever.
  10. I'm still open to some last minute roster juggling. Could upgrade pitching (starters or relievers). OF/SS prospects particularly available. ... By still open, I mean motivated.
  11. Padres UNDER Nats UNDER Twins OVER Cubes OVER all look like great bets IMO
  12. Marcus Stroman has got some weapons. Consider him excessively armed and absolutely terrifying. At the heart of all this: an absolutely dream-worthy repertoire. Look at it this way, and you’d think Marcus Stroman is a guy we made up. I can assure you, he’s very much real.
  13. Don't quote me but I think Toronto has internet
  14. K Rod is pissing me off. Can he just sign into a closer role before Sunday so that I can keep him without feeling stupid?
  15. A challenge you to find a gay without a lot of baggage.
  16. Reminder that our cutdown time is this Sunday, Feb 15th, at midnight. Before then you are all expected to: 1) Post your 20 MLB keepers on the ProBoards or the message board DDL thread so that a commissioner can process your cuts on the spreadsheet (you must also cut down to 12 prospects, but this only applies to 1 owner right now). 2) Select whichever of those 20 players you happen to own from last season's roster as 'keeper' players on Yahoo. Between the 15th and the 21st, you can add the rest of your keeper players, or the Darrells will. On the 22nd we will start the five round Rule 5 Draft (waiver draft). Windows will be 12 hours. Remember the following: - Only players that have been added to the Yahoo database prior to the beginning of the draft will be eligible. So if Hector Olivera signs an MLB deal on February 23rd, he is ineligible to be drafted and will be subject to waivers following the conclusion of the Draft. - Unowned prospects can be added to your MLB team in the Draft, but only if they've played at AA or higher. - At the conclusion of the Draft, Waiver Priority will be reset to the inverse of the previous year's standings. Post any questions about anything here
  17. kevin hayes is owned!
  18. All players regress the same so the team must regress the same
  19. Draft n Hold? I like drafting redraft leagues but I don't want another daily time suck.
  20. Bust: Pompey, Tellez. Sleeper: Jimenez, Cole, Rasmussen. Deep Sleeper: Huffman, Robson (if he can get enough starts), Tim Locastro, Jesus Tinoco. Breakout: Labourt, SRF, Urena. Bounce Back: Jimenez, Tirado (somewhat).
  21. He lost over 2mph on the top end. I think its a pretty big deal when the guy's MO as a two pitch reliever is basically 1. Pump heat, 2. Hit them with the split. You can see a lot of it in the plate discipline numbers. It all reads like hitters stopped swinging at fastballs out of the zone, starting murdering fastball strikes, so he threw more splitters but that's not a zone pitch so that explains some of the BB increase. It's kind of a mess with Steve. I'd be very surprised if he was back to his old self, or anything approaching it.
  22. So we ignore the precipitous drop in velocity at his age?
  23. It was his shoulder
  24. Based on what, exactly? Hopes? Dreams? Wishes? Your own farts? Wilton Lopez is more likely to be a reliable major league arm.
