  1. No biggie just get the Dodgers to chip in a bit more $$ for the double hip replacement
  2. Yeah they definitely did. Looks like they understand his value
  3. It's possible but lets be real. Even a baby can learn to speak 2 languages.
  4. "chicken hot dogs" also, attire: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/UGW3DuMYsIw/hqdefault.jpg also, can't even figure out his own swing or how to steal bases with plus speed. hedumb
  5. Morrow and Janssen were pretty smart guys. Are there any smarties left on the team? I guess Dickey wrote a book / is kind of aloof and stuff. Bautista seems pretty smart. Donaldson is very smart and well studied about hitting. Nobody else on the team strikes me as particularly dumb or smart. Stroman might be more intelligent than most but hard to say.
  6. lol Safeco -> AT&T -> Marlins Park...... -> Petco 2016? that's pretty funny
  7. Peterson and Liriano out of Petco plz
  8. This article seems to say that the Padres are offering Toritani a starting gig at SS: http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20141216-00000009-sanspo-base
  9. absolutely none. everything is translations of japanese news articles translated by randoms on twitter
  10. The Tortilla Tortoise is OURS
  11. Only real competition would be the Nats. Strasburg Zimmerman Gio Fister ROARK!/Treinen/Jordan/Cole
  12. And check out his UZR (sss but scouting reports considered him fringe). He's kind of like a Junior Lake that never got moved off the position
  13. Lowrie gets a SS gig so it's unlikely that the Jays ever really had a chance.
  14. Very high WAR total occurrences like that tend to be driven partly by luck. Regression is appropriate. He's projected to be the best 3B in baseball and the 6th best position player. Steamer isn't exactly pessimistic on him...
  15. New prospect value table http://www.thepointofpittsburgh.com/?p=51 Crazy that OAK would trade ~50M in surplus for Samardzija. Maybe they thought it would be possible to flip Samardzija this offseason for something similar. Or maybe they think they've accomplished that with Semien.
  16. And Hanshin. Hopefully Mauro Gomez sold him on how great Buffalo is...
  17. gammonsdaily.com give him a chance! Ol' Gammo won't be around forever...
  18. no. OF ALL TIME.
  19. He needs a better editor on his website, that's for sure. But generally speaking I like how he writes, the way it reads. It's like somebody who knows a lot is just talking to you about a topic. I also really like how he rolls little factoids like that into his pieces. He's just a good story-teller I think and the odd grammatical trip up doesn't really bug me. Lots of baseball writers and pundits can churn out a textbook story about a transaction but most of the time they don't have any flavour. That's why I'll read something by Lott or Griffin from time to time but I'll pretty much never click on a Shi Dividi link.
  20. You'd still want Aoki with Saunders here?
  21. I like Gammons. He's old and he doesn't know how to twitter but he's smart, a good journalist, and his articles are excellent.
  22. Can't read his mind but it's probably not like he'd leave ~12M or something on the table just because he doesn't like Seattle. I'm sure Melky liked the thought of hitting 2nd in front of / playing with Cano.
  23. You'd have to assume that the marginal $ for that 4th year just didn't make sense. 3/42 > 4/46, for example. Especially at Melky's relatively young age.
