  1. wow, 30 walks in 29 games for Alford. 23% non-intentional walk rate. .489 OBP. I'd love to hear a scouting report from someone who has seen him a few times. Is his batting eye this good? Looks like he might lead all of professional baseball in OBP right now (min 90 PA)
  2. There's something with BTS and Red Sox starters... Doubront, Buchholz, now Kelly. Bad mix.
  3. Right, it looks like he has a decent eye so the K's could really drop at some point. We still have very little idea what type of player Alford will be. He could be a CF or a corner outfielder. He could be a light hitting speedster, or a high K power hitter. Could go in any direction.
  4. Another Sunday classic from Carlos Frias!
  5. It's not a talent thing. They just already have 5 (or more) starters taking turns in AAA. Castro, Wolf, Albers, Norris, Doubront, Jenkins, and maybe whichever of Copeland/Redmond is down there. It's not like there is a big talent gap between AAA and AA. A lot of top pitching/hitting prospects either skip AAA entirely or only stay there briefly.
  6. Given the profile, he's utterly ignorable until he holds his own in AA.
  7. I wouldn't worry too much about the homers right now. He still has the plus raw power, just needs to find the right approach to tap into it.
  8. To fix the pick #56 problem, JF has agreed to send GP his 2016 3rd rounder, gratis, once the draft is completed and those picks become tradable.
  9. Alford 2-3 with 2 walks. 24 walks in 27 games. I am excited. Best position prospect? (not counting Pompey).
  10. He's also 22 and in A... that age is above the league average. He's nothing. Like I said, a nice looking prospect for Bisons fans to get excited about.
  11. Well Boxy only had Pollock because I felt bad for him and sent him some sleeper advice last season, so whatever.
  12. BTS offense vs. Ryan Howard, who ya got?
  13. Ok, so Jays_Fever traded pick #56 for Axford and then turned around and traded pick #56 again to GP in the Semien deal. GP and JF need to come up with an agreeable amendment to their trade. Since this really was JF's fault, he should be extra amenable to GP's asks. As a worst case / last resort scenario the trade could be reversed, but that seems silly given the small value of pick56.
  14. Locastro might make a decent AAA player and 4th/5th IF on the 40 man, but the no-pop no-SS skills profile is a tough one for major leaguers. He even has less SS skills and pop than Jace Peterson (probably).
  15. Well at least he doesn't have "spinal stenosis"
  16. Kind of miffed that I didn't jump on that brief buy-low period on Choo BTS when Choo was done three weeks ago, Pearce for Choo, yay or nay?
  17. BTS' transaction history position in between Braun and Harvey is pretty funny. IIRC he has basically sold Harvey, Braun, and Wainwright at the worst possible times each.
  18. Yahoo actually gets all of their notes and quotes from Rotoworld, btw. I guess we should more correctly make fun of rotoworld.
  19. wow, good for him. that can't be comfortable.
  20. Hire Dusty B for one day. Just long enough for him to turn Aaron Sanchez into a reliever.
  21. lol I guess an .862 OPS is relatively disappointing from Bryce Harper...
