    Yeah I agree with this. He’s used to being the best player on the field on any given night and he’s not adjusting to the fact that he’s now hitting against some of the greatest pitchers on the planet.

    Speeding up the game won’t do s*** for popularity. I’ve always said the reason baseball is less popular is because there are too many games. Its also the reason football is most popular in America. Its obvious people prefer less time commitment for the sports teams they follow. Less time commitment = more casuals = more fans overall Its the reason Soccer is the most popular sport in the world

    They’re basically just trying to revert the game back to what it was 50 years ago. I don’t think it’s going to work, there are too many smart front offices and they will continue to find new ways to optimize their rosters and strategies in order to squeeze out the most wins.

    Donaldson is notorious for doing this too, he kneels in front of the bag to block it. I don’t think he’s ever been penalized

    Could also be more dramatic if they don't allow guys to play up the middle/behind 2nd base. I haven't seen the official rule yet

    I feel the shift ban is more dramatic than you are implying. Having 3 guys stacked between 2nd and 1st or 2nd and 3rd is a lot different than having 2 there and 1 guy directly up the middle. Basically having 3 guys in a 45 degree cone on the pull side vs having 3 guys in a 30 degree cone... thats a big difference on top of no infielders playing on the grass

    Dansby is kind of a surprise because I felt he was a guy that just wouldn’t ever put it together offensively. AA was bang on with him if he tried to extend him prior to this year. The Acuna contract looks incredible at this point in time even factoring in the injuries. Albies has taken a step back but the contract was so outrageous that he’s still underpaid. Austin Riley is looking like a powerhouse. Maybe Olsen is the only questionable one so far? Seems like maybe he could age badly, but he’s still pretty young. Also interesting that AA hasn’t really signed any pitchers long-term. Its a very different approach than our FO, with the majority of our money tied to pitchers and only 1 expensive position player in Springer.
