    Yeah Cavan constantly benched in favor of Tapia is baffling. Feel like this would be a good pitcher for him to face too

    Yeah its a combination of bad pitch selection (swinging at everything low and away) and missing the mistake pitches (fastball down the middle). He’s just not locked in like he was last year

    Judge, yes. Remember Cohen going hard after Springer and they missed out. He will want to stick it to the Yankees and show off. Im betting Judge gets his mega deal with the Mets. Arte Moreno might be dumb enough to outbid them if Judge doesn’t feel like staying in NY.

    Not even bad numbers, just nowhere near usual Soto numbers. Hader has been a dumpster fire for them

    Yeah you get the extra player for the doubleheader, so I guess he’ll start one of those games. Good roster management here tbh

    I would guess it was extra insurance for CF in case Springer wasn’t able to CF as much. Probably they were thinking about a Merrifield/Tapia platoon if needed. Also he’s cheap next year and there’s a decent chance he bounces back with the bat and is a good 9th man/bench piece. I don’t think they expected him to be this bad, his underlying metrics were still good at the time of the trade I believe
