    I always err on the side of caution when talking about extending a player. Almost always better to wait and see how things play out. Not saying Manoah should be extended or not, just commenting on the Strider extension really and what a Manoah one might look like.

    Yeah I still think the contract turns out as a net positive, but year 1 was undeniably a disaster. Too bad we didn't just let him play out his last year of control, because we probably could have signed him to a huge discount contract this offseason.

    This is stupid. Both those contracts were bad the moments they were signed. I don’t think a single person thought the Berrios contract was bad at the time. I guess Atkins is supposed to be a fortune teller or something according to you

    So you’re saying Manoah is worth less than 75mil/6yrs today? I’d say thats a decent ballpark figure for him right now, considering track record and years of control remaining. Obviously Strider is a superior pitcher but he has 130 innings in the major vs Manoah’s 300 innings

    Completely agree with this. Kirk will likely fetch the most of the 3. I think Jansen’s bat is a lot better than people give him credit for, so I have no problem with him as the main catcher. Also Kirk is like 50/50 C/DH and we have enough DH guys to rotate already on this team. The team would be better served trading Kirk for a starting pitcher. Gotta fill 2 spots in the rotation this offseason IMO.

    I would personally non-tender, pick up a better CF, push Springer to LF/RF and have Biggio/Merrifield as OF backups. Will be interesting to see if the FO still values him at all after he clearly showed in 2022 he is pretty worthless

    Same. But they may need an extra arm in the rotation next year, and if they think Kikuchi can be a 4-5 ERA starter then he’s more valuable in the rotation.

    I just keep telling myself it could’ve been worse for the Jays. Imagine if that s*** happened in game 3 for us, or later on in the playoffs. Or if we had like 10 more wins than the team that beat us. All in all, Jays and Mariners were pretty evenly matched and the hotter team won. Castillo shut us down. Our pitching was trash both games other than Gausman.
