I think the funniest thing here is that people are assuming Bauer will automatically come in and pitch like an ace. Like its a guaranteed thing. Dude hasn’t faced live batters in almost 2 years. He is also 2 years older.
There’s a good chance he comes back and puts up numbers like a 3/4 starter.
Clubs have to weigh the risk of potential PR hit vs the gamble that he’ll actually be a difference maker. The PR hit is a certainty, while his performance level is somewhat of an unknown.
His talent would be welcome, sure. But he’s the biggest douche in MLB by far and it isn’t even close. I would really prefer not having to root for him.
Lol that’s cool. But yeah its definitely not practical but something cool to have. You’d have to figure out some way to bolt it to the wall or build some kind of block to anchor the seats in.
I heard from Facebook that they apparently threw out all the old 500s seats…
Shame. I would have been willing to buy a few just for a cool fixture in the basement/man cave
I really can’t see Chapman getting more than 6 years unless he has a monster season. His numbers are just too under-the-radar and too much of his value is tied to defense.
Yeah I don’t think this deal will blow up or look terrible like the others will. Devers is a great hitter, lefty, young, and should be able to smoothly transition to 1B if needed in the later years.
Meh. Bullpen is still ass, their defense still sucks, Harper is gone until July and Schwarber is their only OF that doesn’t suck complete s***. Turner was a nice add for the next few years, but they definitely aren’t close to being a top 6 team
Phillies are not better than any of the teams on this list, major recency bias here IMO.
So i’d bump the Phills down to 10th and say its a fair list
Also not sure the Astros are #1 considering they lost Verlander and haven’t replaced him
Its easy to see why the twitter casuals are up in arms about this trade.
“Can’t believe we traded a .300 hitter and our best prospect who’s gonna be an absolute stud for some loser that can barely hit above .200”
