    It’s mostly the projections I think. Same reason we have Vladdy knob jockeys. Kirk’s preseason projections were lofty and he hasn’t even come close. He’ll probably have similar projections next year too, deserving or not

    Because a postseason run is not guaranteed. Could have no homefield advantage for rd1 and get bounced again like last year. And they spent like 500 million on renovations this past offseason + next year. Not hard to understand

    I agree, give him a pass for this year since it was a weird situation. However im not optimistic he won’t still be fat next spring. Vlad didn’t come to camp in better shape even though he struggled last year. And Manoah was huge… we’ll see with these 3 guys but im not optimistic at all.

    Jansen at 28 is in better shape than Kirk at 24. There is no guarantee Kirk will improve like you’re implying unless he gets his conditioning under control. Same with Vlad.

    Well… im looking at Jansen at age 28 and he’s a good 100 lbs lighter than Kirk while being like 6 inches taller

    Jansen is a great guy to have as the backbone of the team, just need to keep him healthy. Wish he could play more but they are probably trying to keep him protected. Offer him Grichuk money and see if he takes it
