    It’s exhausting. If we had traded Kirk and he had a season with the bat close to what his projections were (120ish wRC+) and Moreno struggled, everyone would be whining that we traded the proven player.

    Yup, had to basically give some away to a friend of a friend so they wouldn’t go to waste. Back then they made you buy the whole strip of tix for the entire series and I couldn’t make it to every game… managed to make the Dickey game where they lost like 14-2 lol

    Im kinda turning on to the idea that big bat/mediocre pitching teams are far more favorable in the playoffs compared to good pitching/D teams. You look at the teams that won from the last few seasons and its all heavy slugging teams that had a few good pitchers. Really you need like 2-3 guys to go on homerun heaters during the playoffs, and the more of those you have in the lineup that are capable of something like that, the more likely it happens.

    Isn’t that just it though? Varsho SHOULD be a much better bat than KK. Just didn’t happen this year. He has way more HR power than KK, which as we have all seen is the difference maker in the playoffs. If he doesn’t rebound with the bat next year then yeah this trade starts looking awful
