    I read somewhere that the plane was late departing, and that it departed on the opposite end of the airport, not where the private jets normally leave from. So anyone waiting to catch a glimpse would have missed it.

    Oh I agree, seems insane to think he could get MORE by opting out. But maybe it gives him a chance to feel less pressure to select a location to tie himself down to for the next decade.

    I thought I was hearing 12/614 Most likely with opt-outs too. Would make a lot of sense (for Ohtani) if the Jays offered a contract with an opt-out after 2025. Lines up with Bo/Vlad possibly leaving and gives Ohtani a year to prove his arm is good
