Don’t lose hope people!! Even though Shohei wasn’t on the flight, the report from the Dodgers Nation guy is still potentially true. This report and the whole flight thing don’t contradict each other. Very possible this is still accurate. The only odd part is that nobody else has corroborated yet.

Guys, its very possible that the Dodgers were informed of the decision and now they dgaf about keeping things quiet, which is why it leaked from the Dodgers side. Jays are still keeping things quiet to respect Ohtani's wishes. Or its all ******** lol

I read somewhere that the plane was late departing, and that it departed on the opposite end of the airport, not where the private jets normally leave from. So anyone waiting to catch a glimpse would have missed it.

Oh I agree, seems insane to think he could get MORE by opting out. But maybe it gives him a chance to feel less pressure to select a location to tie himself down to for the next decade.
