  1. Yeah that's not how this works my dude
  2. Yeah waiting for your pitch or else taking a walk is a sound approach. There were other issues leading to the struggles our lineup had.
  3. Well... that's not a bad approach really. Still feel like the main issue was too many flyballs to CF. And when there was a runner on 3rd, you could almost guarantee a strikeout was coming next. I don't feel like that hitting approach that Whit is describing tracks with the struggles our offense had.
  4. Yes, just pointing out you can still have success with a 30% k rate
  5. Aaron Judge strikes out at a similar clip. A change in approach could mean everything, same as Vlad really. Who knows if these guys have the capacity for that kinda change. But I wouldn’t be shocked to see either of them go back to their production numbers from 2021/22
  6. Yeah Nelson cruz is a good comp, and he didn’t really find his groove until his early 30s. I could see Teo following that kinda career trajectory with some slight changes in his approach at the plate.
  7. Ooof. Yeah i’d just roll with a rookie at that point, or try to grab a guy like Moncada. Don’t like the idea of Polanco for 3B.
  8. Polanco is a butcher on D, doesn’t really fit the team’s MO
  9. Yeah we all would, but WHO is available? Not much really. Its a bad offseason to want/need to go all-in
  10. I probably would’ve done that deal. Includes an opt-out after 2024 too. Most likely scenario, he puts up another good year in 2024 and opts-out to sign a longer deal. Worst-case, its only 3 yrs. I would assume Teo gets something similar with an extra year tacked on. Something like 4/50 or 4/60
  11. No way either of them sign a 1 yr
  12. Rays are absolutely f***ed if they have to eat that contract lol. I think they’ll wait it out and trade him when he’s allowed to play. Whether its in a year or 3 years
  13. I think its more likely he’s guilty than innocent. You don’t seem to care about the FACT that he has multiple accusers
  14. Gotta love completely throwing your morals out the window because you own a guy in fantasy
  15. Agreed. I think this will bring up major arguments during the next CBA. Unfortunately its legal under the current contract, even though its an obvious circumvention of the luxury tax. But I think that will change.
  16. If that were true then nobody would ever sign with NY, Boston, Philly, etc. Those cities boo people for no reason
  17. It was Ohtani’s own translator dude that mistranslated. His own fault.
  18. The Jays would’ve had a better chance if they were located in LA
  19. Kobe Bryant. Back in 2017, Bryant had filmed the clip as a favor to the team. Now, more than three years after his death in a helicopter crash, Bryant's reputation as the ultimate competitor spans all sports, and his message to Ohtani registered the same posthumously in 2023 as it would have then: There's no better place in the world to win than Los Angeles, and there's no better team in baseball to win with than the Dodgers. "That was one of the highlights of the whole meeting," Ohtani told ESPN through his interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. "I was really surprised to see it. It was a strong and touching message." When Bryant said Ohtani's name, it took him aback. They never met, but Ohtani marveled at his commitment, to his craft, to his sport, to his team. Mizuhara, who is as much consigliere to Ohtani as the conduit for his words, grew up in Los Angeles and understood what it meant for Bryant to vouch for the Dodgers. A minute of his time, of the presence he still casts, felt like a wonderful eternity. Lolwut??? The Dodgers had Kobe Bryant record a video pitch to Ohtani back in 2017 when he first came over, and they used that same clip in their pitch this time around.
  20. The Japanese are interesting people. Seems like Ohtani is the one that made the offers, not the teams. Very odd process, but i'd guess he's happy with the result.
  21. It would be pretty bush if Cleveland traded him a year after signing his sweetheart contract to stay there.
  22. In what universe does Votto get 12 million lollll
  23. That’s a lot of wasted money after the first 2 guys you mentioned
  24. Still kinda shocked Snell got the CY with a f***ing 5 BB/9
