  1. CJ Abrams possibly. Makenzie Gore. Plus maybe others in the Soto trade. And a bunch of guys they traded to the Rays for Snell… and the cubs for Darvish. Idk they just completely obliterated their farm within the span of 2 years while Overpaying on some big contracts like Machado, Bogaerts, Darvish, etc.
  2. Doubt it. But who knows, hard to tell if the new ownership is actually involved at all yet or not.
  3. Return seems light for a guy as good as Burnes. Ortiz and Hall are likely decent everyday players, but usually you’re looking for an impact player when trading an Ace like Burnes
  4. Seems like a dumb trade for the Brews?? f***ing hell….
  5. That’s encouraging, if you did a poll around here I think most would say Springer is washed and an albatross. I still think he’s got a couple years left in the tank. Just had a down year last year like most if the lineup.
  6. - Davis Schneider wants a word - You hurt Bowden Francis’ feelings - Throwing your manager under the bus is completely reasonable - Alcoholism is nothing to joke about
  7. Its extremely puzzling that Nate Pearson hasn’t been a lockdown reliever like Bautista for the Os. He has the repertoire, the frame, the elite Velo… disappointing player.
  8. Idk man, based off what Polanco cost I dont think we’ll be involved there
  9. Yup he was supposed to be a franchise cornerstone player like Pujols. He’s had exactly 1 season where he showed he’s that guy but the other 3 seasons have been disappointing. We were hoping Vlad would be more like Pujols or Freeman, instead he’s been more like Mark Teixeira-Lite or Prince Fielder-Lite
  10. You’re right. The fact that every other elite team has great L/R balance is just a coincidence
  11. Plan A to Plan B was quite a f***ing drop
  12. That’s… an interesting choice. Could’ve gone with someone like Acuna instead if they wanted a young latino player.
  13. ok then. Jays 2024 definitely a better team than the 2023 Jays.
  14. I was kinda hoping for risky/stupid. Ohtani-mania was the highlight of the offseason unfortunately. The AA period between 2013-2015 was very exciting, even if it hampered the team long-term. Was hoping for some crazy moves since we only get 2 more shots with Bo/Vlad. Maybe the FO has soured on the "core" altogether though, with disappointing years from Vlad, Manoah, Kirk.
  15. What were the the 2023 projections though? I think we're all expecting some rebound from guys like Springer and Vlad, but I would think the 2023 projections were more favorable than the current 2024 projections.
  16. Well they got rid of Belt so that's something.
  17. IMO the moves they made this offseason are more "high floor, low ceiling" type moves. No real risk but also no real gain anywhere. The roster is solid, but nothing extraordinary. Definitely will compete for a playoff spot but they won't be a favoured team if they get in.
  18. My heart says no, but my brain says yes they're likely done.
  19. From what i've watched, he seems like a very good situational hitter. A guy that can drive the ball to all fields, slap an oppo single when needed, all that stuff. i like the signing, just wish we were still adding someone like Bellinger/Chapman too. I'm still not entirely thrilled about the way the everyday lineup is looking. 1. Springer 2. Bo 3. Vlad 4. Turner 5. Kirk 6. Varsho 7. Schneider 8. IKF 9. Keirmaier Still missing power, not a great L/R balance, and the bottom 3rd of the lineup could be a major problem.
  20. I could see Turner starting at 3B every other day, then IKF replacing him by the 6th/7th depending on score
  21. Would’ve preferred Joc at this cost but whatever…
  22. Yeah doesn’t really make any sense.
  23. Racism wins yet again
  24. Just frustrating that they did literally nothing to supplement the offense at the deadline. It was clearly an issue. The Hicks trade was great but they just didn’t go that extra mile to get a bat which could’ve (would’ve) made a world of difference.
