Best case scenario would actually be Kawhi coming back on a 1 year deal. Take one more crack with the current roster and then be free of all the big contracts. Won’t happen, but that would be awesome.

I know you’re kidding, but Toronto would have to somehow dump 2/3 contracts of Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol for that to happen, and would probably need to include Siakam to find a taker. Trading in the NBA is incredibly convoluted.

Crazy how Marleau would allow a trade, ostensibly to let the Leafs get cap room for D-men. This is a guy who always wanted to be a Leaf and finally got to play for them as a contender, and now he’ll step aside because his contract is an obstacle for the team, when he doesn’t have to. You don’t see that kind of selflessness from pro athletes.

Feels like the season is on the line tonight. With KD still out, now Looney out, and potentially Klay hobbled, the Raps won’t get an easier opportunity for a win than tonight, going forward. Conversely, if they do steal a road win tonight, you are guaranteed to get back to Toronto no worse than 2-2, and the Raps take a firm hold on the series.

Jose Ramirez over the last calendar year is only .233/.353/.431. Did the bubble burst on this chubby slugger? -
You could also frame this slightly differently, because if he can improve his PD incrementally, he can be a breakout star. He has plus bat speed, power, foot speed, and maybe the best throwing arm among all catchers. If he can trim his K rate to under 30%, he could be a monster.
