How the f*** did Kazmir turn his career around like this? Anybody could have picked this guy up for free at numerous points last year.

I'll just go ahead and brag openly about how my FC team just re-captured 1st place (also a 20 team dynasty for those of you who live under rocks). And even more impressive, that team has a better record than my DDL team. Oh by the way, I just acquired Scott Kazmir. Cheers!

Chris Young is having a freaky season, he's maintaining that ERA around 3 despite the worst xFIP and GB% among qualified starters. I guess playing in Safeco is gold for extreme flyball guys. I own him in my other league and he's been a must-start lately. Probably it's mostly BABIP luck, but he continues to be very useful.

I proposed the 3-way to BTS this afternoon and closed it pretty quickly, which I think goes to show how much it suited all of our needs. BTS and I had a side discussion about trading him Choo for a pitcher if the Bautista trade went through, and I knew Cobb was part of his offer to Spanky. I had originally offered Archer + Craig + picks/prospects for Bautista, so switching that to Archer + Choo wasn't a big stretch for me, and I knew that Spanky coveted both Rays pitchers, so he'd probably accept Archer + Cobb if I flipped Choo to get him. BTS upgraded his offence by selling a SP (something he's been trying to do for months), he got to keep Syndergaard, and he took a chunk out of my future rotation. Spanky got the two centrepieces from separate offers he was considering, and I got the best player in the deal. I think if anyone left value on the table, it was probably me... but BTS had the better offer on the table for Bautista (Cobb/Syn+), so I wouldn't have landed Bautista unless I upped the ante.

I like you Jaysblue and I respect you as a competitor, but you also take forever to close deals. If you brought your best offer to the table, maybe you would have landed your target, rather than nickel and diming for maximum value.

I've never had a bad negotiation with Spanky. He is always respectful to me, even if we don't match up. If you make good offers to people, you build good will.

Ballsy buy on Verlander. I traded Myers/Gausman/Bradley for Verlander and Choo about 2 months ago in my other league and have nothing but buyer's remorse so far.
