  1. 22 HR in 576 career PA now, and there's nothing in his 2015 line that jumps out as fluky or unsustainable.
  2. The one that really pisses me off is "he's a professional hitter"... ORLY? Here I thought he was playing for free.
  3. I know, you even asked me about one the other day!
  4. More so because you kept trading for OFs even when you had like 3 or 4 really good ones.
  5. Maybe try offering Adam Jones for Eric Hosmer?
  6. I think we all feel this way. Anybody who lived through the Jamie Campbell play-by-play years appreciates the dulcet tones and specatcular hair of Buck Martinez. It's Tabby who needs to go.
  7. The SBs have been a very pleasant surprise, he's got a shot at 30/30 this year.
  8. Who makes it to 20/20 first this year: Goldy, Braun, or Upton? Goldy is just one steal away, while Braun and Upton are each 2 SB away.
  9. I once got a pre-game text from a Blue Jays intern which read, "Buck Martinez: noticeably hungover."
  10. I'm impressed that Buck can even enunciate as well as he can considering how much he drinks and how many foul tips off the face he took. He's a wonder.
  11. Every time Pat Tabler says "he's only going to get better," I have to drink.
  12. Or as Buck Martinez would say, MAYzhurred. Probably learned that when he was playing ammadur baseball.
  13. Lol that one bothered NJH soooooo much. Amazing.
  14. Annoying you with my vernacular is my life's work.
  15. There's a strong correlation between how good of a player you were and how much ignorance I can tolerate from you as an analyst. I call this the Reynolds Curve.
  16. I actually don't understand how a person can be so good at hitting a baseball so far, and yet fail to make contact so often. Does he have no two-strike approach, or what?
  17. Joey Gallo is to home runs what Billy Hamilton is to stolen bases.
  18. Adam Dunn maintained a K rate around 25-26% until he was like 30. That's much, much better than Gallo.
  19. Not really, Sano has been somewhere between 23-29%, while Gallo has consistently been at 33-40%, even in the low minors.
  20. OPS? Surely you understand OPS favours high slugging hackers like Gallo and Arencibia, I can't imagine any other reason you would use such a verboten metric in this thread. What's actually remarkable is that Gallo can ISO around .300 and still only be a league average bat. No baseball team will keep trotting him out there if he's hitting .190 and K'ing 40% of the time, even if he's mashing at a 40 HR pace.
  21. So does Joey Gallo officially suck now, or are we still pretending his whiff rates will somehow become tenable?
  22. I don't think Bird is the next Goldy but maybe something like Lyle Overbay, and his power could play up more at Yankee Stadium.
