That 1.37 HR/9 is totally unsustainable! Even though he posted rates of 1.30, 1.17, 1.19, 1.50 in previous years and lost 1.2 MPH off his heater this season. I still like Shields and I think he's a fine pitcher, but he's by no means great this year, whereas Giolito has the tools to be a generational pitcher.

I really don't care what numbers you use, Giolito will be much better than whatever Shields is this year.

What am I cherrypicking, exactly? Shields is a ~2 WAR player this year, not setting the bar very high for Gio.

Meh, if Giolito doesn't become even a 4.18 FIP pitcher, I'll be very surprised.

I think Giolito can easily become what Shields is now, but the odds of him having such a good, long career are slim.

K... but his line since the beginning of last year is .259/.324/.408. That's seriously some weak ISO sauce. Danny Valencia has been markedly better. But on the bright side, it's not like you traded two budding aces for him.

You don't even have to beat me necessarily. I could beat you 8-6 and he'll still get 1st place if he wins 11-2, for ex.

BTS has no real chance to get in, he'd have to annihilate Silvergun (which will never happen) and have North get smoked. LS has a real chance to take the Prez Trophy though.

Also, holy f*** @ Kris Bryant having a 5+ WAR rookie season. Absurd. And considering how (relatively) low his ISO is compared to his MiLB numbers, you have to think there's quite a bit more ceiling there.

I really don't know if I could live with myself if I traded Donaldson for a 3rd rounder. I've made plenty of bad trades, but that one would be very hard to swallow.
