  1. His power negates his strikeouts. Every team could use a 2.5 WAR OF who can play a passable CF and has 20 HR power.
  2. I have no problem with that, a .325 wOBA power bat is perfectly fine for a 6/7 hitter.
  3. We didn't re-sign him because he was a free agent and we can't force him to stay here.
  4. Colby has a career .327 wOBA as a CF, Smoak has a career .308 wOBA as a 1B. Colby is an above average hitter at his position, Smoak is a below average hitter for his position, although his power has played well this year. Given 500 PAs, I think Smoak can easily hit 20-25 HR playing half his games at RC. I don't really see anything that leads me to believe a larger breakout is coming though, he's a flawed hitter with good power, that's it.
  5. He seems like a pretty average CF judging by the metrics we have. His DRS is -1 but his UZR/150 is 17.7 in CF this year. In fact, his UZR/150 is considerably higher in CF than in the corner spots, where he has mostly played this year. He seems to be a better CF than LF/RF, which makes sense considering he's been playing there his whole career. He's by no means a disaster in CF.
  6. Hey guys, just FYI, Colby had a 5 WAR season for us and is going to finish with about 2.5 this year despite being platooned quite a bit. He is a good player, who for some reason, some fans think should be a consistent all-star. For his career, he's averaged about 3 WAR per 162 games. He is a good player, with well above average power for a CF.
  7. I think Colabello probably won't even be in the majors this time next year. There's nothing about his line that looks at all sustainable, and the power is pedestrian.
  8. Of course anything is possible, but it's important to realize how extremely rare it is to have a hitter emerge as an elite talent that late in his career... the fact that we have two is downright remarkable.
  9. This one is going to go down to the wire, looks like.
  10. You should be thankful I handed you a championship.
  11. I'm going Saturday and Sunday, I won't make it into work tomorrow if I go tonight haha.
  12. It was the loudest, craziest baseball game I've ever been to. The floor was literally shaking.
  13. Berrios would already be their best starter.
  14. I was at the game last night I'm just totally wiped today... such an emotional rollercoaster.
  15. It's an extremely important game, obviously, and yes the most important in 20 years. And yet, still not a must-win. We are going to be in first place tomorrow no matter what happens.
  16. He committed suicide, this has been confirmed.
  17. I'm talking about prior to 2014. You definitely hit on Pollock but there were lots of signs after his 2014 season; not so much before.
  18. In all seriousness, nobody thought Pollock was going to turn into anything super fantasy relevant, same with Cain. Sometimes these late bloomer 15/20 guys can sneakily become good. Mahtook was a big name on draft day, that I remember.
  19. Without checking at all... I'm going to assume you own him in LOD.
  20. Maybe Lorenzo Cain is a better comp, or Starling Marte.
  21. It's pretty much the exact same line he put up in AAA last year though. Intriguing power-speed combo.
  22. Boxy, Mikie Mahtook is rocking a 159 wRC+ after today's home run... the next Pollock?
