    I really doubt Carter wants to go to Japan. I think he'd take less money to stay in MLB.

    He's probably including Smoak's salary in that calculation, but IMO that's a sunk cost. Personally I think upgrading from Smoak to Carter is a no-brainer and I don't think the budget is as finite as people believe. All reasonable upgrades should be considered.

    I'd still take Harper in a dynasty. Kershaw's mileage will catch up to him while Harper is just entering his prime years.

    I would love to get Robertson assuming the Sox keep some salary, I've been on that train for awhile. He has been an elite reliever and is one year removed from a 2.27 xFIP. He's not going to return a Top 100 prospect, so I don't see why people are objecting to him.

    So I have a question... did the Cardinals know in advance that they were going to lose their top two picks? And if so, wouldn't that give them a lot of incentive to sign a QO free agent like Dexter Fowler? Seems kinda scummy that they lose their top 2 picks AFTER already surrendering their 1st round pick for a free agent.
