    You seem to have an obsession with putting Encarnacion in the OF however I think that would be a bad move. He will try to dive a balls, from what I remember the last time he was there, and that will most probably lead to an injury. I don't know about you but I would really hate too see Encarnacion on the DL for any length of time.

    You don't want to doubt those who should have inside sources however I would be surprised if this is true. Gibbons has made questionable decisions which costs about 3 games so thats not monumental but if they did not like how he handled a recent post game question period I think that's lame. Gibbons has had his hands tied with staffing and that's not his fault at all. Cher got demoted, LFer and RFer got injured, 2B got injured as well, and a main starter also went down. That's a huge handicap to start off the season with so I will assume it is a false rumour till it is made public.

    If they stopped talking about it and eliminated saying gold glover there would be too much dead air-time. They may just have to start mention Jeter's name again and that hurts the eardrum even more.

    True and only 27 pitches thru 2 while Sabathia has thrown 26 thru 1.

    A few people were thing the same thing in yesterday's game when their BP came in - game over!!! Anything can happen so it might be worthwhile sticking thru the torture.

    I agree with this however the alternative will be to trade (hopefully from the farm only) and not anyone important on the current roster. If this happens there will be such an outcry it will be most amusing (and frustrating at the same time) to see the reactions. Anthopoulos is not a magician so he will not be getting any top quality arm for nothing or for spare parts. Also, saying it would have been cheaper in the offseason rather than now is also being a bit naive - it will have cost a lot then as well. Let's see if he does anything going forward without the constant put-downs cuz that job isn't as easy as it looks.

    Hmmmmmm, is it uncomfortable straddling that fence all the time? On the one hand you are attacking Anthopoulos for his lack of SP depth yet somehow you think this same horrid rotation will recover and the team will do well? Also, Stroman was a huge loss so the depth automatically got thinned out even more. It like thinking you should blame Anthopoulos for not having a "Bautista" or an "Encarnacion" type person sitting around as depth. If your strong type individual goes down it will most probably affect the team negatively cuz replacement players are never going to give you the production of your elite players. I am not saying I was happy with the way the rotation was set up initially but it was really bad luck to lose Stroman for the entire season. The Jays offense looks good but the loss of Bautista or Encarnacion will have a negative trickle down effect. Maybe not as noticeable as the starting rotation cuz it doesn't contain as many high calibre players as the offense has.

    out of reach in 2 separate innings. The pitch count could also have been a factor however I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt that he saw Norris really didn't have his stuff this outing and pulled him for someone who could throw strikes.

    This is a very annoying strategy by Gibbons and I usually don't fault him but lately he has been making some really questionable moves.

    Travis is doing great where he is so that shouldn't be messed with till Reyes is back. And Donaldson is hitting so well in the 2-hole I would want him to remain there.

    As thought this game is not hard enough we have to give away outs. Buehrle must be wondering what he has to do to get through this game. Does anyone have any idea why Gibbons is experimenting with switching player position between LF and CF?

    He should have called him off but he acted like a rookie who did not know better. Frustrating to see stuff like this bit but it happens from time to time.

    I disagree. He slowed up because of Travis bearing down on him and it dropped very close to him. He would have had that in my opinion.

    Only cuz he has not failed so far but just wait till he gives up games and you will be all over him, the manager, the GM, and the coaches. On the other hand you, and the knee-jerkers, have nothing negative to say about the Jays taking a chance with inexperience at 2B cuz so far he has been terrific.

    That is not a relevant question and so also would be a follow up question like what else would have to be given up to obtain a good replacement In the ranting and raving mode there is no room for reasoning, only room for knee-jerk reactions.

    I was thinking this same thing yesterday. Pretty soon it will be all about a little group of whiners ranting and raving in their mistaken belief that they really know how to run a baseball team successfully. There is little discussion on baseball or even sharing of opinions, just a lot of immaturity. Just like high school days where the in-thing is for kids to group together and giggle at stupidness and call others names like fatty, idiot, moron etc. Well I got my rant out but at least I kept it out of the GDT.

    I really do not understand the philosophy behind switching players from their regular position (Pompey in CF) unless they are showcasing someone. Are there any rumours or is there another reason for making a move like this?

    Not sure I can handle Encarnacion at 3B or LF even in a pinch - too scary.

    I think "StatCast" falls short of its mark!!! Facial hairs should play a big part in the overall analysis and that may have been conveniently left out.
