1. I don't think that was intentional.
2. Revere is LF is a comforting feeling. I no longer cringe when I see a ball hit out there. The upgrade in D alone is quite welcoming.
3. Being angry is not being smart. He charges the mound and there is a possibility of an injury. Or, he is ejected and the Jays lose his D and his bat for the rest of the game. I am glad he kept his cool. Save it for the next battle.
4. Caribana may be having an effect on attendance as well.
5. That's funny. You should also go thru the thread and look for all those who were suggesting the game as being over before the 1st 100 posts and prevent them from participating in the GDT tomorrow.
6. I hope you realize your crystal ball is not working and you try to sit back and enjoy the game rather than talk crap all night.
7. It's not the forum... it's just some of the more vocal negative empty vessels. Also, I think Jonn and Troubla should go on a date - they are made for each other.
8. I have seen some real drama queens on this board but you sure do take the cake. Maybe you should just try to relax a bit and enjoy watching a really nice lineup for a change. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/members/2038-BlBl
9. Why? Is being a douche appealing to you? They are understandably not happy about the Jays situation so why try to anger them even more? I swear some of you are not even teenagers as yet. If you feel strongly about something just do it. Don't look for support to do something foolish.
10. First read I saw "They are just wait for Buck to tell them what to drink"
11. It has been pointed out a few times already - look at the date of the tweet (2012)
12. ... and you can add the LFers as well.
13. Carrera has not been diving lately so he is making the catches but he and Colabello and Valencia are not even average LFers in my opinion. When you give away runs or allow hitters to get on base because you either miss the catch or miss the cutoff man you are giving the opposition more chances to succeed. I would have liked to see Pompey called up but something is amiss with this option cuz there is no way the FO cannot see how badly LF has been and not called him up. I don't have an answer as to why they have not but they sure do have some reason for not doing it moreso how crucial games have become since the AS. Anyway, I am waiting to hear what the final cost is and whether he can be signed long-term.
14. I am conflicted also however getting Price as a rental does not work for me. There are still other holes to fill (especially LF) to have a reasonable chance at the WC so unless he will be extended (and I can live with that) I will change my vote for Anthopoulos to stay. If you have to give up good talent you better be replacing that void with good talent as well - in other words, an extension.
15. Reyes definitely had an infectious personality. At times he was playful making those around him relax and smile yet he was also intense which would ignite and fire up the passion and desire of teammates to do well. I will miss him but I am also excited to see what kind of excitement our new SS will bring to the team and to the fans as well.
16. The ankle injury to start off his BlueJays' tenure was really hard to take - so much anticipation followed by disappointment. The Jays do seem to be jinxed in a weird way Just got Travis back, great start off HR and then the injury. Knowing that Valencia, Carrera, and Goins are all on the field at the same time was such a stomach-turning feeling however it could have been worse. It could have been Valencia (2B), Carrera (RF), Goins (SS), and Colabello (LF). I am hurting, but laughing as well, at the sheer absurdity of this situation - So much potential yet so much bad luck.
17. Everybody makes mistakes, even you. It seems as if almost every time you open your mouth to speak or to post (nonsense most of the time) it's negative yet no one throws you under the bus. Contract aside, I really liked him as a player. Some of those routine misplays were truly unbelievable however he brought excitement to the game and good camaraderie with the team members. Not everyone ages at the same rate and I feel he is deteriorating faster than I expected - lack of range and maybe a failing eyesight (my opinion). Anyway, baseball can be quite the roller-coaster ride so it is better to be prepared for shortcomings and not expect everyone to play perfectly all the time.
18. To honor longtime part-owner Sara L. Buck who died in August 2014.
19. From a priority point of view it is not wrong - the greatest need is for an elite SP. However, if the fish is not biting you change the bait and if that does not work you move on. The guaranteed success of the majority of prospects are never a certainty - They develop differently at times. Some only develop to their potential when moved to a different team (wake-up call?), others improve when thrown into the fire, and yet others when given a chance and then sent back down (knows what needs to be worked on and do so). I would have liked to see both Hoffman and Castro a little longer but some times you need to make a move when an opportunity shows up. Improve your MLB team as much as you can, when you can.
20. How do you know this was not tried? It is really silly to hear fans, not you specifically, try to make it seem that Anthopoulos really does not know where the priority is. Would you be willing to give up all of the Jays top 10 prospects for any one of them? Other GMs know what the farm looks like and will most probably be asking for the moon because they know SP is a top priority for the Jays. Anthopoulos did try to get an elite SP but he did not like what was being suggested to he most probably backed out. Just because he does not make it known to the fanbase what he was offering for other pitchers does not mean he didn't try.
21. Thanks. If it is true hopefully the fans will come to realize that Anthopoulos knows where the priority should be however if plans to get a pitcher is not materializing then he will try to make the team better going forward by addressing other inefficiencies. I really liked Reyes (including his personality which, in my mind, plays a part in club chemistry) however SS D needed to be addressed. His range, especially to his left, was lacking and even though he has a strong arm it was erratic at times - reminded me of some of Encarnacion's throws from 3B a few years back. Also, lately Reyes was messing up even the most straight-forward balls hit to him which was costing the Jays some games. Who knows how this change will affect the team going forward however, whichever way it goes, it should still provide some entertaining baseball.
22. Congrats on being around for 9 years!!! Anyway, I don't think anyone hates you and if some do, then just let them know you don't give a damn.
23. It's fool... like the poster who used it. I really hope a heavy-handed mod is here tonight cuz the negativity by two posters has started and the game has only now begun.
24. Navarro is having a good game so far - good for him. Maybe he is learning a thing or two about D from Martin.
