    I'm not trying to be a dick, but I don't think you know what denigrate means. Saying "he won't be in contention for even the 2-3 pick" and the only real thing in that post is his batting average, I'd call that some pretty unfair criticism.

    I had Bundy and Ja Rule but I swapped to Thames from EE and had some budget, so I went with Carrasco. Then I had to emergency sub Cotton for Shields. Hope it works out!

    This is so disingenuous. First off, no one should be judging anyone based on batting average. Secondly, that was an incredibly dishonest way to denigrate Beer. He has a 8:22 k:bb, an ISO around .330 and a 1.070 OPS. That is without taking into account the ridiculousness of judging a guy on less than 20 games in the first place. It's not his fault if no one wants to pitch to him.

    Probably frustrated beyond belief. He has a real opportunity to play out the year as a 3-4 WAR regular and this slump just comes at the worst time imaginable.

    I just entered this thread to post about this. Holy f***, I love Shatkins but good god this LF/1B situation. You have to start one of Smoak or Carrera every day and you can't beat 3/16 for Thames? f*** me, this is the final nail in the coffin for me not trusting Steamer. Steamer said Thames would be very good and he's been really f***ing good.

    Because hitters have different strengths. A guy who excels at pulling the ball and isn't good at spraying the ball shouldn't try to alter his tendencies.
