    I keep hearing this. We gave up a lot. But really, have you ever gone back and looked at the NBA draft history? 20+ picks, 9 times out of 10 you get a complete chump.

    Pretty hard to get excited to get excited about the Raptors next season. It also says a lot about the league when the proper move is to completely tank rather then compete with a possibility to win the Eastern conference.

    Ty Cobb only hit .300 in the minors. He was only 17 though.

    Should have clarified. Through their first 300 PA's in affiliated ball. Not at any period of time over their minor league career. Wondering where he ranks in that category. Best starts to minor league career.

    302 career AB's and his average now stands at .402. I want to say that puts him in rare company. Can anyone find out in the last 30 years all other players that hit .400 and above minimum 300 PA's?

    Didn't impress you? I took my 5 year old to tee-ball for the first time last week and he already has more baseball knowledge then John Shannon. John Shannon should not be allowed to talk about baseball. Geeze I remember last summer Shannon thought Yankees were DFA'ing AROD, so they could increase his trade value for the off-season.

    I know the NBA has a huge following and it seems to be on better financial ground then ever, but still, I think it's a problem that might eventually hurt the league. It's June 13th and I can pretty much guarantee will will see this exact same finals play out again next year. There is just no team the can beat GS. Cleveland will punt the regular season, because they don't care about home court. Lebron will take more time off. Every single team in the East should tank outside of the Celtics and Cavs and compete for the basement because that is where the stars are that you need to compete can be found.... top 10 picks. It's just a sad state of affairs, when tanking is really the smartest way forward for so many teams.

    I didn't hear the Jeff Blair show today. What did he think of the Jays picks.? I heard John Shannon will be on at 5 to give his thoughts on the Jays draft so far and who's left on his board the Jays might want to look at in the latter rounds.

    I heard a good idea that involved one player per team be allowed to have a salary that doesn't count against the cap. So Lebron can make 70 million a year, but say only 25 would count against the cap.

    It is very entertaining. The NBA finals has always been entertaining to me. I just really don't like how for most teams it makes much more sense to tank to get in position to get that special player.

    I hate the NBA, because you can have a good team like the Raptors and literally have zero path to a championship that doesn't involve some small miracle. They could finish top 6 in the league next year and they are still better off tearing it all down.

    With the way the Angels are setup, basically projected to be a .500 team into the foreseeable future, I don't think that is that bad a move for them.

    I know it's low minors, but can you remember a time where the bluejays had two position player prospects better or equal to this? They are both pretty much at the top of the league in batting and only one other player in the top 20 (ops) are in their teens (still older then both). I mean that's pretty incredible. I remember in 2012, pumped every night looking at the Lansing Boxscore and seeing how well Pillar was doing and he was 23 at the time.
