It's cool if she did her thing professionally and now just wanted to settle down and have a lower stress job. But to bust your ass to get through programs like those only to settle for a teaching job is a head scratcher. I guess not all people are motivated by money lol.

A PHD in anything math related from a reputable school almost guarantees you a sweet job as a quant at an i-bank as long as you are willing to work 80 hours a week.
