Has your opinion of Gomes changed? "I was fairly impressed with Gomes' defense while he was here. He can play passable defense at several positions, including catcher, which will give you some nice flexibility. There's some power in his bat, but his swing mechanics are incredibly inconsistent and I think you'll find that he struggles to hit more than .220 or so." -Grant77

    No, but there was talk of him being a super utility guy at the time (playing 3B, 1B, and some C). You don't give up young, versatile talent like that, especially when you have such a gaping hole behind the plate.

I'm like 99% sure that they had a wicked-awesome design originally planned only to see corrupt officials siphon off 50% of the budget.......and then this POS was all they could afford at the end.     Expect this to happen at least 5 times at the home opener this week. Drunken casuals are the worst. They need to have higher railings and better security in the upper sections.
