He can't hit for average but his plate discipline did improve last year, and his power numbers should have a rebound as long his wrist issues have been taken care of. Very solid player.

This thread is making me wonder what kind of contract Colby could be looking at if he continues to hit. Say he has another 4 WAR season, with a weak CF market next year I'd have to think he'd at least be looking at Hunter Pence money. -

Signed Jimenez/Garza/Kazmir and/or traded for Samardzija/Fister Signed Infante/Ellis or trade for Franklin/Ackley/Espinosa (could still happen...maybe?) There was plenty out there so I'm not going to bother narrowing it down to singular names. -
Yeah sure why not just watch another pitcher sign with a division rival. It's not like we need depth.

Well that would fit right in line with their plan to let Morrison/Hart butcher LF all year. Or are they just going to have like 5 DH's...? I honestly have no idea how their team is supposed to fit together.

I guess you mean "sub par" in terms of HRs and RBIs (because he missed some time with injury that year), but I'm still going to nitpick and note that Votto's 2012 numbers are amazing . Of course, even without the counting stats, he could still impress traditionalists with his batting averages. AG's point is moot though since Votto has already gotten as big a contract as he's every going to. -
