    Donaldson post-hip surgery would probably be better than Donaldson playing with the injury, and he was our best player in the post season while dealing with it

    Right. Also guys please don't forget that the FA class we're talking about isn't a secret, the Yankees are cleaning house and will be poised to make a few splashes, same with LA and Boston. I know we have a great revenue stream, but I don't think we can compete with that upper tier just yet. I like the point you make, I would rather give him the money and term now, I'm pretty sure he's going to get more on the open market, that year is probably going to be bonkers in terms of handing out huge contracts

    Bumping for an interesting update: Major League Baseball informed teams tonight that it has cancelled its Dominican national showcase, which was scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. In response to a report that MLB is pushing to implement an international draft and raise the signing age, among other international reforms, trainers and players in the Dominican Republic planned to protest by having the players who were invited skip the showcase.     #BlankCheck But seriously I think he's going to give us at least 3 more MVP like seasons, I like then numbers you threw out BTS, I'd sign him for that amount. Given how many fans are showing up here I think we would have enough budget to fund him. To be completely honest though, I'm OK with whatever direction this team decides to take. I have never felt I had this much trust in a management team ever. I loved everything Atkins said the last few days, whatever they do I'm down with honestly. But personally I would love to see JD stay here long term.

    Yes he did. Wilner literally said "Do you see Bautista as still an outfielder defensively". No other way he can answer that question.

    I loved what Atkins said today. Sounds like we're in for one hell of an offseason. I loved the Alex/Beeston combo, but I think the team lead by Shapiro is MUCH more professional in terms of their approach, and more calculated at that. I wonder what this guy can do now that he has money to play with.

    He never said that? Let me ask you a question, if the media asks you about arguably the best Blue Jay Position's player's ability in anyway, would you say the cold honest truth and face a PR nightmare? I think not. JP Riccardi was a prime example of a guy being harsh, but honest, on a player who wasn't even a Jay (Adam Dunn) and I remember that caused issues.

    You need to understand that this isn't MLB The Show where you can turn off "force trades", nor is there some sort of "Overall" number floating over him to show that he's going through a bad stretch. So I wonder what exactly you think we will get for him, unless you are suggesting that we give him away for free.

    Kimberl since he left Atlanta is not better than Osuna for sure. This season he has a BB/9 of over 5, strikeouts are attractive but I don't think I can hate anything more than a walk late in a close game

    I'm pretty sure it is unmovable already, didn't he have a clause in his contract that when traded away from Colorado he he'll have a full no-trade clause?

    They look soooo nice. The blue undershirts/elbow guards the players wear with them make them look better. I wish they bring back Flashbacks Fridays though lol those were the s*** It's the same ones as this year I think they're just using it more often. Probably because they've sold lots of them, I've seen so many of them, s*** I have one of my own lol

    I read a tweet that the Jays will announce that Red jerseys will be used on Sunday home games as well as Canada Day/Canada Baseball Day. Pretty cool

    For sure are you kidding me! It's not like our bench is shining, he's one year removed from a 2 WAR year, he's still 28, and worst case scenario he's a pinch runner for the postseason. I think he bounces back next year
