lmao what a trash penalty shootout
  3. Come on man we're just going to assume every car accident = DUI? The guy just passed can we refrain from speculating ?
  4. I don't think anyone is disputing the $ amount. 'Cost' is more than just how much money, the NTC is a sting (essentially you're on the hook for the contract throughout the 5 years) and you lose a first round pick.
  5. I'm glad we checked out, we can get Bautista for less and on more team friendly terms
  6. lmao, baseball's version of "New # who dis?"
  7. Minor note but Stephen Drew did this, although it was Boras' fault. He turned down a QO from Boston of $14M, and couldn't get a deal until AFTER opening day. The deal? 1 year/$11M from BOSTON, lmao
  8. We put Pearce in the OF and Morales at first
  9. You guys really want Fowler for 5 years at $18 per??? And lose a draft pick in the process?? Yeah no thanks give me Bautista at 3 years $16M per and watch Bautista put up a better OPS and offence in general across the 3 years, just keep him off the field
  10. We're sitting at like $140 right now signing Bautista would push us to $156 at least and getting Seth Smith for example at full salary puts us at $164. That's even before Iannetta and the relief pitching, not sure what's wrong with that salary number

  12. Lets get Bautista, Moss/Seth Smith, Iannetta and look into relief pitching. I hope that isn't too much of a stretch I know that Shapiro mentioned that the resources are becoming more limited
  13. Time to take my Bautista jersey out the can!
  14. I think when you break it down more people will agree. I think most people are hating on the deal because it's big money for a "relief pitcher". The value of relief pitching is at its all time high, and it's getting higher and higher year by year, this contract is just the first of many in that price range.
  15. Yikes doesn't look good I don't know how teams stock up on starting depth, it always seems like the best teams just have drafted talent in AAA. For us we need to sign people to minor league contracts right? That means more talent like Oberholtzer. Unless we just stick swingmen like a Feldman or a Chavez in the bullpen that can give us some spot starts. I doubt we get another 2016 where the rotation is healthy (or at least able to make starts in Estrada's case) year round
  16. Who is our #6, #7 and other depth options? Bolsinger?
  17. Basically, here's more context
  18. I think we're definitely going to add a couple of FA pieces, but with the FO saying that Biagini is gonna remain in the pen and Loup looking like a 'strong' option I think they know the market is tight for us to get relievers. Our starting pitching depth is pretty thin too, no?
  19. What ever happened to Smoral?
  20. Happy birthday Jonn!!
  21. Man Chicago is rebuilding heavy. I wonder what they can get for Quintana
  22. No I know but the WORST? Worse than even Revere?? This guy was throwing guys out from deep RF thats a huuuugee drop
  23. holy f***. Thats so sad and crazy
  24. Gibbons is a people person and is loved by everyone. I haven't heard of any issues since he's been here except for the Donaldson thing which was handled VERY WELL by both of them. Took us to back to back ALCS (one with a battered BP) and keeps all Egos in check. What's there not to like about him? Oh yeah also he gives 0 shits about everything/everyone. He's great!!
