  1. Based on what most of the forum wants to do. -Demote Gose -Keep Rasmus for the remainder of the year -Don't offer Rasmus a QO because it might net us a Comp' pick and that would cause other teams to move back a draft slot which isn't the Canadian way Wouldn't it be great if in 5 years we had a 200 mil payroll, an average team age of 35 and no farm.......good times
  2. When the contracts expire, what do we have on top of the money being free'd up....nothing. I'd rather have Buehrle's contract off the books and a B prospect opposed to having Buehrle for an extra two months of 2015. And waving bon voyage empty handed.
  3. The Jays could've kept all the farm pieces they moved in the Marlins & Dickey trade and overbid 5m per year each on a handful of free agents they might've been targeting and I would've preferred that route. I'd rather the Jays have offered Anibal Sanchez 25 mil a year and kept Henderson Alvarez than not have Alvarez and pay Buehrle close to 20 mil. I guess in your scenario the Jays are playing shy with how much money they'll spend, because as it stands the Sox, Yanks, Dodgers and a couple other teams will easily top Toronto in doling money out to players (FA's) or complete a trade taking on significant payroll. So if the Jays are willing to run the payroll up another 50 mil great, otherwise they can't ignore the farm to keep some sort of payroll flexibility in place. And if Hoyer says we want Stroman+? Or we want Sanchez and two of your other top 5 prospects?
  4. Most prospects lose their hype or shine when they break into the majors because most of the time there's a bit of a lull. What would your thoughts be on a Bautista for Shelby Miller, Oscar Taveras deal? And what team would say no?
  5. I'd be okay with moving Edwin or Bautista this month or next for a haul of young talent. Both are 30+, are likely not going to be playing like this for years. So yes I'd trade off maybe not winning this year to have a much better shot at winning for 5 or 6 years. That's not the only option.
  6. I still think it's hilarious at whoever mentioned it awhile back. The Jays acquired Escobar knowing he was a malcontent with the Braves, yet itched to get rid of him when the maricon issue popped up. They stole him from the Braves and pretty much gave him away in the Marlins deal......stupid.
  7. We're at a point where the team is better than average, the farm is average and we're sitting with two picks in and around the top 10. It's not time to do a rebuild, nor is it time to further shave the farm down. It's time to start slowly moving older assets for younger pieces, while our older assets are still performing well and we get peak value as a return.
  8. I'd still rather pay Alvarez less than a mil and have the rest of the money spent elsewhere opposed to paying a crazily over-achieving Buehrle a crazy amount of money.
  9. And Jay, what's sickening is people who've been vocal about disliking both the Marlins & Dickey trade are onboard to go further down the road of making the similar stupid moves.
  10. When Alvarez is getting paid close to LG Min. and Buehrle's getting what he's getting....I'll take Alvarez.
  11. None of these trolls have a regular account they're tied to?
  12. I don't think I've been Gibbers for 2 + years now.
  13. Was at Wrigley in April....Detroit two weeks from now, contemplating going to the ASG in Minnesota.....playoff/WS game on the horizon.....money really isn't an issue.
  14. And yet I'd still follow them and not be upset they're gone. I don't get the roadblocks other fans would put up due to a relocation? Just doesn't make sense.
  15. I don't find "Unloading the farm for David Price" to be a legitimate discussion. It's a dumb idea trying to contend putting an offer up for Price and using the farm. Firstly because emptying the farm further erodes any chance the Jays have at payroll flexibility in the near future. That is unless Rogers is playing shy with the money and plan on spending like the big market teams spend. Secondly any offer we put out to the Rays could be topped by a myriad of other teams. Heck our offer could get obliterated by a team in our own division for Price and they still might have a better farm than the Jays. Keep dreaming with your dumb ideas.
  16. I actually just got hired on as a Windsor copper. And I wouldn't classify myself as being strange for not wanting to be pretend friends with fake baseball fans, like others do.
  17. They wouldn't have been a contender. Just like they're not one right now. It just would've made the team a little more palatable to the fans that need to see W's, otherwise they're outta here. But they're still huge baseball fans.....bwahahahahah
  18. I could be on board with an all-in move. Just as long as the Jays front office promises to make the following 10-15 years unbearable for fans, thus forcing Rogers to sell the team and move them to Brooklyn where they belong.
  19. He's not gonna tell you. The guy's a hideout, otherwise he would've kept his old name.
  20. You're the one that brought it up. I don't give a f*** if he's 7'1" or 5'7" or if his hands are growing out of his shoulders like some gimp chick I saw in Cincy or if he has long fingers like a pianist. Everyone makes a big f***ing deal about things that don't matter. If he can pitch, he can pitch. If you have some alterior need to recognize things that don't matter, good on you. It's only good for whatever you're looking out for s*** like that for.
  21. I'm not watching a game to see how long or short a players fingers are. The length of Stroman's fingers are obviously not hindering his ability to throw a wipeout slider, so who really cares?
  22. If we took Hoffman @ 9, is Monte Harrison too much of a reach at 11?
  23. But hand size was never mentioned before.
  24. Who googles the length of Marcus Stroman's fingers? You trying to get a video going of "One ringpiece, 4 fingers" and not wanting to pierce your bowel?
