    At some point the tap runs dry because proven assets are expensive....and the Jays just aren't a big market team like people like to pretend to afford more & more.

    Beyond 2014, I'd personally rather dump money towards Maeda and have him take a rotation spot than hand Morrow 10+m and not know what he's gonna provide.

    The worst option IMO would be overpaying with prospects for a push.

    For an organization who hasn't shown a willingness to spend at a level with the big teams, why would the Jays be smart to allocate 10+m to a BP arm? I'd rather they put that money towards a SP or bat.

    I'm on board with this idea, as long as its only for 2015. There isn't a chance in hell I would extend him beyond 2015. IMO his starting days are done and the Jays paying upwards of 10 mil for a RP is dumb roster and financial management.

    Morrow's career high for innings pitched in a year 179. I hope you're not hanging your hat on him for a full year in the rotation, because that would be beyond dumb. As for how the team is constructed and what we have coming in the next year, I would rather let Morrow walk. Morrow going forward best case is a late-inning 'pen arm, or an unreliable SP. I would rather the Jays offer Kenta "Raine" Maeda a 6 year 126 mil deal to be a rotation anchor going forward, not Brandon "I can't pitch even close to a full year" Morrow.

    Usually SP don't start regressing in their first taste of MLB. A starter's general peak is 27-28 ish so I wouldn't be thinking over the next couple of years that Hutch is gonna slide and become a Drabek.

    My positivity or negativity will move more based on what the Jays do or don't do move wise, not whether they win or lose.

    I get all my away tickets off StubHub or another site....wherever the tickets are cheapest. I've never got in trouble at a game. But then again I rarely wear either teams gear when at the games. (Eg. if I'm in Pittsburgh and they're playing the Cardinals, I may be wearing an Angels or Astros jersey.

    But if you watched other teams you'd realize they aren't playing perfect baseball, so it numbs your unrealistic expectations.

    I would think Price & Zobrist moved separately could easily net more than Sanchez & Stroman.

    I'd prefer not hoping that good players get injured.

    Why would they not move Price? It's constantly about putting up an impending FA and getting some prospects to re-stock the farm. Heck, the Rays might be smart to move Escobar this off season as well and have Hak-Ju Lee come up and take Yunel's spot, further re-stocking the farm and making the team more financially flexible in pursuing other value FA's.

    If Sanchez is a part of any deal it better be for one of the better SP's being named and not one of the weaker SP's like Hammel or Kennedy. And even then, if we're talking a premier SP, we're talking a couple to a few more prospects being tacked on to Sanchez. This all-in push is stupid.

    I don't get what KGM meant with Gwynn being built for Jack Murphy? It was a pretty run of the mill park with no advantages I can think of. I thought it was Boggs that used Fenway to his advantage.
