  1. Or Maeda, Tomas, Hanley, Moncada.....
  2. Funnily enough the BP is also the 3rd most important on my priority list when building a talented team.
  3. You should be using other sites that have the lineups up long before Yahoo.
  4. You have to admit though, lots of fans get so wound up when their team gets on a little roll and they think its a playoffs they'll be going.
  5. Why didn't you keep bidding on him then?
  6. Kidding? Reyes can't handle softer hit balls with more time at short and constantly throws balls away. And you want him at 3B where he'd get eaten alive by liners and be throwing even more balls away. f***ing brilliant!!
  7. Scutaro's been done for awhile. His back is a mess.
  8. It will cost a lot more than 12m to get Kuroda here. And even then, I'd prefer him over Buehrle.
  9. True. But with the arms we currently have and aside from me wanting trades to happen, this is what I believe the rotation should look like going into 2015. Dickey, Stroman, Buehrle, Hutchison, Sanchez as much as I love Norris, he needs to go to Buffalo and pitch for a bit there. Happ in the bullpen or Buffalo becomes an annoying piece of crap and there's no reason to waste him in either scenario.
  10. I agree with what you said except for "needing a hit out of the lower part of the order." Kawasaki is a fundamentally sound player who is an asset off the bench. He doesn't deserve a starting job and the love the fans shower him with is due in part to gimmick and the "Rudy" effect than it is "this guy is a crucial part of our team and if we don't have him, we don't win."
  11. There's 6-7 free agents right now I'd rather give the 19+m to than Buehrle next year. So if the Jays were to get anything of value in return for him on top of the money saved for a better long term player why not do it?
  12. I'd rather move Happ to a team with a lack of SP depth and get a depthy/useful piece back. Putting Happ in the pen will definitely lead to more sulking and eventually the Jays releasing him for nothing because they don't like players who sulk.
  13. I was watching and they cut the Presser off. Jays were the runner-up to Cincy who had deep-rooted ties with Chapman according to interviews with Jocketty just after the signing. So if you're late to the party and offer less money, the likelihood would be you wouldn't get the prize.
  14. People need to be aware he's catering to the losers that attend the RC on a regular basis and most of what he says should be stripped down.
  15. Because the Jays didn't get him?
  16. Alex sounds like Fred Savage when he was on the Wonder Years.
  17. LOL, I don't even know who I'm taking. But as the off season unfolds the picture should become clearer.
  18. Seeing as the media always likes to put contrarian opinions into the mix, why not have a saber-friendly guy paired with a guy like Buck? That way the audience gets a bigger picture look at what's actually happening in baseball?
  19. My one irk with Jerry is when he gets angry. He starts going on & on about whatever it is that's pissing him off. I'm thinking okay Mr. Rogers you can cool the holier than thou tough guy rant.
  20. The key word being "appreciate". I think people would appreciate his retirement more, if it wasn't so covered and overblown. Sure he's not the greatest player of all time, not the greatest Yankee, or even the greatest SS...not even close on any front. But for what he's accomplished and how he accomplished it, deserves appreciation. When I was at Bonds' last game, it was cool to know I was at arguably the greatest MLB player's final game and I appreciate Bonds' talents which may be 2nd to none. But I believe if I was at Yankee Stadium tonight it would've felt a little more special. Hence the romanticism of baseball.
