  1. I never knew Cowboys were magicians
  2. Edwin to the Yankees for a combination of two of the following Jorge Mateo/Gary Sanchez/Ian Clarkin/Aaron Judge Sign me up
  3. Then let him walk and QO him. I want the Jays to be done with Edwin & Jose after the 2016 season.
  4. I didn't say anything about moving Martin, Donaldson or Tulowitzki. And there's a handful of players who are more valuable to the Jays than they are in trade.
  5. You expect him & Bautista to walk next year?
  6. Risk. Why risk watching or waiting for a decline. If you trade him for a prospect package, you free up the close to 20m you'll likely have to pay a DH. You spend that money on an area of need and use the prospects to provide further flexibility to the farm. I know prospects carry significant risk, moreso than Edwin all of a sudden declining. But you would still have the 20m you would've spent on Edwin, to spend elsewhere. And honestly, I'd rather have Jason Heyward at 25m per on a FA deal and have a couple of really good prospects plopped into the farm as a return for Edwin, than I would watching Edwin DH into is late 30's and possibly decline.
  7. Jay, even if the seats weren't owned corporately the stupid hockey fans of Southern Ontario would still have filled the ACC or MLG. No questions asked.
  8. I wanna be a part of witnessing that. Edwin DH'ing. Comfortably into his new deal and he starts declining.
  9. Isn't it weird the Jays would lose a huge following if they started losing again. But the ACC & Maple Leaf Gardens have sold out religiously for decades? What do you think the reasoning is?
  10. At some point this will be the case.
  11. Why's that? Torontonians and Canadians aren't really baseball fans like they claim?
  12. He wouldn't net much anyways.
  13. So why not give the kid some time? When Kluber was Stroman's age he had himself a pretty meh year between AA & AAA and didn't turn the corner until he was 27.
  14. Oh, I thought you were talking about their opinions.
  15. That's fair. But when talking about the best, we may have finished with the best team on paper for 2015. I can't say the same when players elect for free agency in the coming weeks.
  16. Since when is almost 30 in baseball considered young?
  17. Yeah, temporarily. There's other organizations who are set up for the long haul far better than the Jays.
  18. Wouldn't those fans need to have an idea about players on other teams?
  19. It depends on what. I don't consider moving guys like Jose & Edwin to be slashing. I consider un-tying the moves to bring Martin, Donaldson & Tulowitzki to Toronto as slashing.
  20. I agree. But if we're going to carry Martin, Donaldson, Tulowitzki, Bautista, Edwin & a pitcher on 20m per contracts. The rest of that team better be pretty damn efficient.
  21. Even though it's miniscule, you may as well have put 2 empty roster spots and counted the 1m for LG MIN guys as the minimum. There's only 23 guys on that list.
  22. They didn't really need to slash. They needed to make business decisions to not keep inking or bringing guys in on 20m per contracts. And extending Jose & Edwin would've been dumn, because at some point the budget, team or both break.
  23. You've got it backwards. If Kevin Kiermaier was to move from playing CF to LF he'd actually be rewarded defensively for the switch. His numbers would break the scale because he's that much better than the rest of the LF's playing. And offensively positions do not matter. You're compared against everyone.
