You'd think based on that statement that Wrigley would've been empty based on their lack of success for the past 100 years.
Or the Leafs, Maple Leaf Gardens.....and ACC......s*** teams forever and sold out.
Are the customers who were absent from following the Jays for decades important?
Because they sure didn't act like it for decades. But a resurgence and playoff run and all of a sudden they never left. But it's like they got amnesia for 20 years and talk about the Cito, Carter and Alomar days.
I hate people with amnesia.
Explain how the Jays could've afforded to keep Jose, Price (I'm assuming you're referring to), Edwin, Tulowitzki, Martin, Donaldson and fill the rest of the team?
Very true.
They want the team to bury themselves financially in players who cost upwards of 20m per because we're the Dodgers of the North. And as soon as the Jays can't afford all these guys and have to move them the love fest is over.
But Blue Jays fans foreva!!!!!!
What are they supposed to say? Jose said these are my numbers, they aren't changing. There's one of a few things the Jays FO/ownership can say. Yes we will meet your demands, or no we're not gonna meet those demands.
To jump at Jose's demands would be idiotic, because I'm sure the years & dollars he floated are unreasonable. And to say they aren't going to meet Jose's demands would create an even bigger firestorm and may cause some animosity in the clubhouse all year.
All because some fan wants to know.
Why give Jose close to 125m to play into his 40's when we could allocate that money to a younger free agent unlikely to break/fall off a cliff like most players do when they're in their late 30's early 40's?
You're really hating on Jay Bruce.
Yet the Jays had our own black version of Jay Bruce back in 1993. You know, Jays legend Joe Carter? You know s*** average, no on base, bad fielding, K's too much, only hits HR's Carter?
Why are the 20000+ fans who weren't showing up for Jays games for decades but came out of the woodwork for two months of winning Jays baseball and proclaiming themselves huge Jays fans gonna keep making him remember it?
Maybe, once he answers that he isn't gonna answer, the media guys might clue in that he's not gonna cave and answer. Instead of asking the same question a hundred times.
Bingo!!!
The media doesn't need or have a right to know what's going on. And the fans being the audience to the media don't need to or have a right to know either.
So, no matter what the media asks you. You must answer truthfully because media........and media broadcasts to fans. Fans deserve to know exactly what's going on because???????
What's going on behind the Jays closed doors is none of your business.
