  1. Just shows the calibre of internal talent assessment with Gomes is let go for essentially nothing (Aviles alone is plenty for Rogers) We sure could have used (misused?) Gomes last year
  2. And it was never finished... was supposed to have a liftable roof thingie
  3. Let's not forget the lesson of Snider. I'd rather see Sanchez have a full season of AA and AAA ball. But if in July he is dominating AND his BB/9 is around 2.5 or less, should be considered. There are too many other MLB experienced alternatives. Sanchez has to be dominating the way Hutchison was before he was called up.
  4. EE looks rather beefy compared to last year.... slacked off on the offseason workouts?
  5. Lawrie has a great arm. Escobar has a great arm. Reyes does not.
  6. Having said the above, I hated Lee. He was the weakest link on stacked teams.
  7. Zaunie caught McGowan may have something to do with his opinion. McGowan's stuff was considered comparable to Halladay's at the time.
  8. Lee was sure handed with an average arm and average range. Similar to Reyes.
  9. Really? Manny Lee was generally replacement level, but his age 27 season he had a .343 OBP with quite reasonable D at SS. Injuries killed him in his prime and forced early retirement at age 30. This is Goins' age 26 season. It's highly doubtful Goins will be a better overall player than Lee. Certainly not 'by a long shot'
  10. Should bring back Mark DeRosa and use Lawrie in a Zobrist role No way in hell should Goins and Izturis be manning the middle of the infield
  11. Message to Gose is.... go down to AAA and play your way onto the team If his head is in the right place, should be up in no time at all
  12. one of the things that killed the jays mojo last year was the bad start which I attribute in part to the WBC and what may have been a poorly organized ST should be a better prepared team this year.... we hope
  13. Those aren't bold
  14. JPA OPS's over .800
  15. I've thought about this a lot.... Manny Lee - what a useless POS
  16. i'm pretty sure sanchez numbers last year are contaminated by pitching hurt... he got hit hard in the games prior to DL
  17. Plus, Shark's arm could fall off..... his innings have been on a steep incline
  18. Yes.... may be something we don't know about his health? He was a useful pitcher in 2011
  19. Well if he didn't work as a reliever and doesn't work as a regular starter, then the clear answer is swingman
  20. I'm sure after years of patience the Jays are not going to be reckless with McGowan. He's the swingman IMO 5IP max
