  1. Org would be the envy of baseball if d'Arnaud catching at league min and Pentecost and Jansen in the pipeline
  2. They've gotten a lot better under AA. Whatever other faults AA has, drafting and player development, arguably the most important part of being a GM, has been very good.
  3. Wayyyyyy to early to call Sanchez a failed starter. Thank god you weren't in charge when Halladay had a rough go.
  4. Alford lost too much development time to be top 10. We will see if he makes up for it in a single full season year.
  5. I'm 90% certain Pompey is on the team. The script is too marketable..... local boy, youth, good in interviews, and the defense and speed will make up for any struggles at the plate. The other thing this does is reduce the salary allocation to 117M - leaving plenty of room for a 2B or 3B, and a bullpen arm or two.
  6. Might want to move Mayberry Jr to Other Arb.... and leave the 4th OF spot open. From what I have read on here, Mayberry Jr is not good enough defensively to be considered for 4th OF
  7. The most interesting part of 2015 for me will be how Alford does in full season ball For the ranking, I'd replace Urena with DSJ
  8. This. Every team in baseball has discussed signing Martin
  9. Maybe he meant, 1B, 3B, LF, and DH?
  10. Sanchez has far better stuff, going by pitchfx considerably more velocity and movement
  11. Moving sideways while getting younger is not bad though.... If Estrada means MB can be moved and Sanchez moves into rotation, freeing up ~$19M for other needs.... Bold prediction.... 2015 is the year MB falls off a cliff
  12. AA's plan for the offseason seems to involve creating financial flexibility early.... who knows what the plan is, but I expect we will see a lot of moves.
  13. Probably not too hard to find a leftie to bat against righties exclusively at the DH position and put up 1.5 WAR
  14. Except Lind is not suited for the field. He's like cement out there.
  15. Goins will never be more than an AAAA guy, 25th man. Good fielding, poor hitting MIFs are a dime a dozen. Lind is only valuable because of the DH rule. Without the DH, his value takes a big dive. Long as the DH rule is around, Lind >>> Goins easily.
  16. they are when the alternative is to swing at bad pitches
  17. Wtf..... And I was thinking 36 yr old Ramirez
  18. Defensively Pompey in LF, Gose in CF and shading towards RF, and Bautista in RF has to be worth almost 6 WAR defensively alone?
  19. Is this move somehow related to the situation with Melky, improving the Jays bargaining position or increasing the chance Melky will reject the QO? I'm basing this on an assumption Jays are costing costs and will either sign Melky at a discount or hope he rejects the QO as it is too rich for Jays blood
  20. And Phaneuf sucks balls
  21. You realize Lind has accumulated 2.4 WAR in the past 4 seasons (or 0.6 WAR/yr) and 6.6 WAR since 2006, 8 seasons (~0.85 WAR/Yr) He sucks against lefties, sucks in the field, and sucks on the basepaths I'm not gonna lose any sleep if Lindy is gone
  22. Nessy is far down the Jays minor league depth chart for catchers Hopefully this paves the way for a Hutchison for Starlin deal
  23. Cubbies need a few veterins to lead the way, and more young talent then they have room for.... perfect trading partner for the Jays
  24. The girl's family may care, if he was driving
