    3/39 is a fair offer I wouldn't go any longer or any more..... 2014 was a contract year for him... if he signs a long term guaranteed contract, I suspect his play will take a downturn

    We already have Reyes, Bats, and EE. Don't need more expensive offensive players like Melky or VMart, just solid 1-2 WAR players who are not liabilities in the field. But I guess the marketing aspect is important too. Are the Jays leaking info on the FA's they are talking to, to gauge fan reaction and potential for ticket sales?

    I don't mind if a surplus part can be moved for Saunders... but fill at least the 2B/3B first No one should expect the starting pitching to repeat 2014. Jays got lucky with both health and performance. If they are trying to win now, they need to upgrade.

    Right but you have to move an asset (Happ?) to get Saunders. Open a hole elsewhere. OF upgrade is a much lower priority than 2B, C, and pitching for me

    I hear you all about Burly's 200 IP and non-injury history, but who here believes Burly will repeat 2014 and not revert back to 2013 performance? 2013 is his true talent at this stage in his career IMO. I'd move Burly if I can and sign McCarthy for less money

    Pompey outperforms Saunders easily IMO In any event, AA's hands were tied until Melkman made his move. Now that $15M has been freed up, we may see some moves as soon as this weekend. Maybe for the Cuban 2B? Lot of possibilities

    Martin and Goins over Reyes value wise but now it's Lawrie or Pompey leading off.... the lineup is a little f***ed w/o Reyes

    Headley will go where the money is. He needs to cash in before his back gives out. That's a great defensive OF - highlight reel plays almost every game. With that lineup there's a solid 1-8 and Gose or Pillar batting 9th.

    He only needs to OBP .320 or so to be a 2 WAR player over a full season. His OBP was .311 in 2014. Pompey's arm is better suited for LF.

    Jays can't do to Gose what they did to Snider. Jerk him around, Toronto to AAA and back again, and back to AAA, etc. Plant Gose in CF and let him work through the struggles every young player has.

    Agree 100#. Jays do not have/cannot afford an ace. Very few teams have won without one. Need to trade aging vets for youth and wait for one of these pitching prospects become ace calibre or alternatively use the money freed up to get one.

    So Bautista RF, Pompey CF, Melky LF and Gose 4th OF? Would mean no 2B or 3B upgrade Lineup include Reyes, Melky, Pompey, Izturis, Navarro - 5 switchhitters
