  1. You gonna regret writing that about Sanchize
  2. Why is Thames in TO????? Are we f***ed?
  3. An uber talented 22 yr old pitcher with ace potential who put up 0.6 WAR in 33IP (granted SSS but indicative of talent level) for a guy that put up -1.1 WAR in 2014 Just keep Sanchez and sign Aoki FFS
  4. Bruce for Sanchez - are you f***ing kidding?
  5. To some extent, but its got to be better now. Everyone wants to play for a contender.
  6. The context of the discussion is what would be more efficient at adding wins - sign Panda or sign a pitcher such as Shields (roughly the same dollars) I say Shields, provided surplus pitching can be moved for a 2B.
  7. True, Shields is not a clear upgrade on Stroman. IMO, there is still some uncertainty over Stroman, sophomore jinx and all, whereas Shields is close to a lock for 230 IP and 4 WAR. A starting 5 of Shields, MB, Dickey, Stroman, and Happ is damn strong in a contending year. And Hutch returns at least an average 2B in trade (Cubbies). Then after MB leaves, you still have Shields and Dickey to lead the youngsters, Stroman, Norris, Sanchez in 2016. As it stands right now, in 2016 there will be Dickey, Happ, and the aforementioned youngsters. Shields makes a lot of sense now and going forward.
  8. Signing Shields and moving Hutch (or Happ+) for a league average 2B or better is what I suggest. Do you have a comprehension problem? But you seem to prefer signing a fat overrated player like Panda to a 5 year contract.
  9. Sure maybe MB alone doesn't have much value in trade. Dickey+, Hutch alone, and Happ+ brings an above average 2B. As for cheap pitching depth, have you looked at Jays farm lately? And please, don't be throwing insults.
  10. Nah, in a pitching rich FA market, signing Shields and moving one of the current 5 SP for a 2B would upgrade both SP and 2B at the same cost of signing Panda and upgrading only 1
  11. Lester, Shields, and Scherzer are clear upgrades on any of the starting 5. Several others are clear upgrades on Happ.
  12. what I don't get is in a pitching rich FA market AA seems focussed on position players two things about Jays SP in 2014: - an argument could be made that every SP, from MB to Happ, outperformed their true talent level - Jays got lucky health wise with the SP Anyone expecting a repeat of 2014 from the same group of 5 needs their heads examined
  13. Jays might have top lineup in MLB, but pitching gonna s*** the bed
  14. surprised AA is in on Panda after his comments about durability Panda is Fielder 2.0 - gonna break down in a hurry
  15. Hutch for Starlin makes more sense for the Jays (and the Cubbies) Throw in Navarro if you have to for a B prospect back
  16. Drabek (#1 ceiling)
  17. Agree with you.... send dickey/thole somewhere and sign a lester
  18. main reason, front office too cheap to pony up the cash proof positive is Jays lack of winning bids for posted players from Japan
  19. Anyone that profiles to be a MLB roster player is a prospect. A good bench is valuable.
  20. Berti my sleeper pick from two or three yrs ago when in Vancouver..... he's a bit up there in age but still likely to have several yrs in MLB The bat and power tools limited, other tools are plus
  21. Not really. 2nd oldest team in baseball.
  22. Don't forget Tirado. He was top 5 or close to it a year ago. He'll start at Lansing and is a guy that could advance two levels in a single season.
  23. The baseball community was high and still is high on Syndergaard and d'Arnaud. It was a dick move.
