  1. Morrow might be convinced now... who doesn't want to be part of the BJ juggernaut
  2. AA getting rid of all the pouty, snarky players - Lind, Janssen, Lawrie, Gose, Happ Who's next
  3. and pompey 9th
  4. speechless AA f***ing reads this board
  5. the Beest would have move Norris, Sanchez, Pompey by now
  6. Sharing with Valencia and EE. Rotating players through DH role.
  7. AA top 5 GM Smoak knows this might be his final chance... this could be good
  8. I'm starting to wonder if creative with the budget means all of Goins, Pompey, Pillar, Travis, Sanchez will be in Toronto in April
  9. I voted AAA on the chance that AA reads this forum. Unfortunately I suspect he will be in the bullpen. But all is not lost, Jimmy Key spent almost the equivalent of a year in the bullpen before taking a starter role. If Sanchez follows the Key route, he will move to the rotation come August.
  10. Travis was playing OF (CF?) for the Tigers so there's that... Morneau is ideal for this team
  11. Guess he's better than the replacement level scrubs we have after Reyes and Travis.... but barely.
  12. Still put up 1.4 WAR in 2014. You are right about the inconsistency but he still provides value as a maddening underachiever. As far as the benching goes, there's a saying "don't burn your bridges"
  13. It's unfortunate the Jays pissed him off after they were out of it. Rasmus as a lefthanded bat somewhere between Bautista, EE, and Donaldson could be something else. He'll get plenty of pitches to hit, but his IQ might not let him take advantage.
  14. Better option than Saunders, Aoki, Fowler, Markakis for LF. But he won't come back. He'll want to be as far from Toronto as possible.
  15. Defensively poor for some reason. -52.6 runs for his career, -20.6 in 2014. But steals a few bases. Rajai Davis with less speed?
  16. Agree. The only downside is the money then can't be used for other needs (which may be why Angrioter has Aoki after Dirks/Pillar)
  17. Jays probably have to add Osuna to that package.
  18. What? Weak pitching market? Reluctance to take on salary? New York/Boston?
  19. Oh, I agree. I'd only sign Melky for 3/30. Just commenting on our Dominican friend's dislike of his fellow Dominican.
  20. It was a response to your Post #76, which basically says the other ALE teams have crappy rotation so not to worry about ours. Dangerous logic, NY, Bos, Bal are all likely to make significant improvements to their rotation before March.
  21. Man, did Melky steal your sister's virginity or something?
  22. Hutch's current repertoire roughly equates a #3 starter. But he is still young and seems the type that can learn/add other pitches to keep hitters off balance so who knows where his career will go.... No one will deny a Lester/Shields/McCarthy increases the Jays WS chances, recent history with Detroit's big 3, Kershaw, and Shields notwithstanding. The only question is $$ and priorities. Should be OF, RP, SP, 2B IMO. I prefer Pillar in Buffalo as depth. The OF come April should be Bautista, Pompey, Dirks, and Markakis, Saunders, Aoki, or ?. Need one or two good relievers. More than enough depth at 2B. Not much available on the market..... Cabrera and Lowrie are pretty much the only FA worth pursuing but they will be an overpay due to the aforementioned market shortage. Probably best to roll with in-house options. Leaves SP which purely depends on $$ and whether AA can pull off a sign/trade - eg. move Dickey and sign sign Shields or someone. The budget creativity he talks about.
  23. Red Sox - Lester New York - Scherzer Baltimore - McCarthy Tampa Bay - Laffey Not so mediocre
  24. shouldn't they be focussed on Castro as a starter first? sounds like they've decided castro is a closer
