  1. Of course not. Just pointing out the risk of Cutch/Vlad being a repeat of Dickey/Thor. Quite a risk to take even with Cutch making this team a 2nd tier contender (behind teams like the Cubs, Red Sox, Indians, Dodgers, Nats, Mets).
  2. It's bad enough having to watch Thor from time to time. I can't see Shatkins being stupid enough to move Vlad.
  3. The Jays are a team in decline with aging vets. If they have 3/4 teams ahead of them at the deadline, hard to see how retaining JD makes sense, by the time Jays have reloaded JD will be what, 35/36? I find it hard to see the Jays as WS contenders in 2017, the competition is just so much stronger.
  4. This. A 1 year deal makes no sense when the value of the pick is factored in, and the FO wants no part of Jose on a multi year contract with his 10/5 rights.
  5. He'll go through three more before ST
  6. Shatkins is not moving prospects to bolster a team of old, declining veterans.
  7. lol, yes I think it's one person's opinion
  8. Jays were quite lucky with pitching health in both 2015 and 2016 (even with Stro 2015 absence). Without EE and JB both gone, if a normal year happens and some pitchers go down to injury the Jays are likely battling for the ALE cellar. That's just the 2017 reality.
  9. it's last season and next season during the post season, there is no this season c'mon it ain't difficult
  10. Team Sanchy here Stro seems immature
  11. When the 1st pitch is thrown in the 1st game that means something
  12. huh? they didn't spend much time on same team, at all.
  13. Glad you learned something kid
  14. This is true, the articles I read all have the same "not fully understood" caveats
  15. I have read various articles on the subject. Increased strain on the elbow/shoulder by reducing the torque (and power generation) from other parts of the body should naturally lead to more arm injuries.
  16. A decrease in stride length is associated with a decrease in velocity, due to lower trunk rotation. But in Sanchez' case, there has been no apparent decrease. Does this mean he is throwing harder to maintain velocity or is he a freak of nature. Most likely the former.
  17. I figured you to be a lot younger.
  18. been discussed a number of times.... jays had him shorten his stride to improve control so he's getting velocity disproportionately from arm action. also the inverted W. had a bit of dead arm in 2015, was shut down for a bit in 2016. some signs are there but never know, he could also pitch for the next 15 years without issue, but it is frankly unlikely. a guy that throws that hard and with those mechanics is almost guaranteed TJS at some point
  19. I didn't believe it but looked for it, and da fuq, it's there. todd, legend
  20. His value likely will never be higher than right now. He's also a real risk for TJS. If he was to be traded for a big haul, fine by me.
  21. Kingman >>> Deer Anyway, what's the difference between AA and AAA pitching - better secondaries, pitch sequence, and a tad better control in AAA?

What? Leafs already have Neilson doing well with the Marlies and Greenway is having a good year. Both have a chance to develop into elite d-men. Add a couple more with similar upside and chances are one of them will be a top pairing d-man. What's the lol for?

The following year Tavares is UFA. Nothing coming out of Brooklyn on negotiations.

JVR is UFA after next season, he will bolt for an American team. Move him ASAP. Bozak can kill penalties, great on faceoffs, and defensively responsible. And puts up some points too. There will be a market for him at the deadline. Maybe a 3rd rounder.
