Said at the beginning of the year Leafs are 50/50 to make the playoffs. But they aren't cup contenders. Need to move JVR, Bozak, Komarov and anyone else over 28 or soon to be UFA for prospects and picks. Ideally land a couple of elite d-man prospects.
  2. Tercet doesn't like Pompey. Therefore, Pompey should be up with the Jays in 2017.
  3. Stieb was so f***ing good. After he pitched I would make a mental note as to his next game, wouldn't miss it for the world.
  4. Gonna go out on a short limb and predict Tellez destroys AAA pitching. A huge jump from A ball to AA with excellent results says he'll have no trouble at AAA.
  5. He's succeeded every step of the way, and bypassing A+ ball to have a great AA season is huge. If he can handle AAA offspeed, he'll be with the Jays sometime in 2017.
  6. but late inning defensive replacements are not embarassing?
  7. One of the considerations is when is the next realistic contention timeline. 2020 is Martin expiration, 2021 is Tulo expiration. Also ETA of Guerrero. Stro/Sanchez/Osuna/Travis will still be close to peak, health permitting. Extending a couple of these guys past 2020 at less than market rate helps set up the Jays to field a very competitive team from 2020 on. There is risk of course, but running a baseball team is inherently about risk.
  8. Yes that's why i mentioned Stro but not Sanchez, or Osuna. Travis needs to show he's not made of glass before considering an extension for him.
  9. Stro a free agent after 2020. By mid 2017 the conversation could start, a 4 yrs @ $12M/yr with two club option years for $14M and $16M... just spitballing the numbers
  10. Yes, it's a bit early, mid season 2017 the conversation could start with Stro provided he continues to pitch well and no health concerns.
  11. No question some of the salary room opened up should be used to buy some FA years - Stroman and a few others.
  12. You can think what you want. You will not get far without introspection.
  13. I certainly do, and you are the most intolerant person on this board.
  14. You? Tolerant? Ha
  15. You think Bautista will rely on that, with millions at stake? Get real. He will be signed to an incentive laden contract, possibly the Jays but I hope not.

Yes, long as they stay healthy. Matthews looks to be stay aware of everything around him. Marner on the other hand has been making some risky moves. Hope Babs is talking to him. Also, Andersen with 45 saves last night. He's the real stud the last while. Save pct up to .925
  17. Sarcasm doesn't work 'round here
  18. No. Many places with enough guests the bride and groom get to stay for free, and the wedding is free too. Just makes sense.
  19. Your EQ is a nudge higher than a turd
  20. maybe, but: - playing on concrete - customs - recognition / media attention - endorsements - foreign Shatkins focus on the farm to build up a perpetual contender is the most efficient route, along with strategic trades and signing of lower tier FA
  21. What comes out of my ******* is better than what comes out of your mouth
  22. That and TO is near or at the bottom of teams to play for, for most FAs
  23. I don't believe the machados and harpers of the world will be in on the blue jays
  24. Jays from 1995 until 2015
