  1. At the risk of ad nauseum, Gibby is a bottom end MLB manager and will be fired at the same time the trades are made.
  2. C'mon Grant. How do you explain Pillar being #2 or #3 in trade value?
  3. We've met I have a yellow lab. Also, Vlad and Bichette 2018 with Bisons I meant.
  4. I'm a 10 minute walk away closer to Kalar. Small world.... we should get together sometime maybe see the Bisons if Vladdy and Bichette spend time there
  5. Hey spats i'm in the falls also, mount carmel area.... you?
  6. Travis 822 PA, 5 fWAR, 26 yrs old Pillar 1636 PA, 9.5 fWAR, 28 yrs old
  7. #2 or #3? Sanchy Stro JD Travis (arguable) Pillar or Osuna (I'd go with Pillar) Travis ahead because he is younger, not yet in his prime, and better bat (Pillar's good start to 2017 notwithstanding)
  8. Vlad Jr has approx the same height and weight as Mike Trout.
  9. Pillar will be 31/32 by the time the Jays are contenders under a rebuild or partial rebuild scenario. He's also one of the more valuable ML roster assets (5th or 6th in trade value by my estimation). He's also in his prime and having a career year - prime trade bait if the decision is made to rebuild or partial rebuild.
  10. Agree with the above so maybe Shatkins can sell a third option to Rogers, a partial rebuild involving moving JD for a package including a cost controlled MLB'er to help sell it to the casuals - and moving other older players with value such as Estrada and Pillar. Keep the cost controlled and past their prime $$$ guys that won't bring much of a return (Martin & Tulo). This would keep the Jays from falling into clusterf*** territory.
  11. What is the difference between rebuild or retool, really? Is it moving JD? Because JD is unrestricted after next year, are the Jays prepared to lose him for nothing.
  12. Also, I'm sure like most of the board the FO is encouraged by the fantastic play of Vlad, Bichette, Alford, Jansen and a few others. The pitching prospects have fallen flat however. Getting a nice horde of pitching prospects back would be good move, IMO.
  13. There will be a lot of considerations - team health, schedule, run differential - peripheral stats, how many teams to pass, relative strength of Jays vs. other wild card contenders, what trade offers are on the table. I fully expect Shatkins to have a number of trade offers at the time of making the decision. What they could get in return for Estrada, Tulo, JD, Pillar, ? probably the prime consideration.
  14. If they are under .500, accelerate the rebuild by making trades. No point in delaying the inevitable (and the value lost) on a hope and a prayer.
  15. meh.... i am sure Alford is excited just to be here.... just hanging around with MLB ballplayers is a good experience for him
  16. At least the starters haven't been too bad, Martin and JPA
  17. burlington bandit too.... f*** could be bukkake party going
  18. easy enough to look up the farm team scores on milb.com king probably enjoying his 1st girlfriend or boyfriend (dont want to trigger anyone)
  19. Sure but let's face it, the odds of this injury prone lineup being healthy for an extended period is low. We are likely to continue to see the Goins, Coghlan, Carerra, Maile, and Barney on a regular basis.
  20. Needs a brain transplant. Also, getting the call up and spending a few days with the big club is great for Alford. He now knows how close he is, if he didn't before.
  21. Was the best in baseball by a fair margin
  22. Have been saying it for years, Gibbons is a bottom end MLB manager
  23. The better predictor at this time of year is run differential. Jays are currently at -16 runs. IIRC, at this time in 2015 and 2016 the run differential was close to zero or even on the positive side. Of course, it is still very early.
  24. Agreed. Also of note, Danny Jansen has 3 doubles in 10 at bats for NH, 2 tonight. Very very early, but encouraging nonetheless. Kid just turned 22 a month ago.
