  1. Communicate better, then.
  2. As I said, there is a chance, but Boxy said after signing those guys the playoffs would be a certainty.
  3. yes he has been fairly solid. i see him as either a back end starter or solid middle reliever, depending on the Jays need
  4. No you aren't. You said with certainty that Cole, Roark, and Moose mean the playoffs in 2020. Hey it could happen, but the probability is far lower than the certainty you claim.
  5. Canseco and McGuire on the A's was a two-headed monster of epic proportions Some guy named Rickey was there too
  6. Seeing some FA names thrown out. In terms of strategic signings, the Jays should be doing one or both of: - sign lower level free agents to 1 year deals with the hope they have a bounceback season and can be moved for younger assets - sign top level free agents to longer term deals, guys that will still be here when the Jays are at the peak of the win curve f*** the signing mid tier free agents to 2-3 deals, the risk vs. potential payoff is not there
  7. I have been saying for months now BJs need to start making strategic additions through FA to build a future contender, in part to improve the on field product and start bringing back the fans. But to the extent of trying to build a legit 2020 contender? That would be ridiculous.
  8. You start now. So you agree with Boxy then, BJs make playoffs if they sign Cole, Roark, Moose. Or is it a ridiculous assertion.
  9. Cole, Roark, Moose = playoffs? Ridiculous.
  10. Also the easiest position to improve.
  11. I have yet to see anyone write him off.
  12. a lot of wishful thinking going on, reminds me of every year from 1995 to 2012
  13. BJ Ryan blew out his arm. 100 Miles Giles is a good candidate to do the same. Relievers are so volatile they should be the last acquisitions of a team entering the contending phase on the win curve.
  14. Nah, that would be dumb. Relievers, man.
  15. lol, a week is enough time?
  16. Obviously a lot of it is MLB appeasing segments of its fanbase, who would be much more upset by a player assaulting a wife vs. an on field brawl.
  17. False equivalency. A man that assaults a wife/girlfriend is probably not going to do it just once, and many times these things end up becoming very serious / fatal. Not the same as a one time baseball field incident.
  18. Because it is unexpected of Latino guys, but expected of white guys.
  19. Even a turd can have a hot streak. We saw this with DSJ
  20. If the BJs are planning to trade Alford this offseason, you would expect him to be playing.
  21. AFL starts tonight folks
  22. Fully expect the BJs to be active in the free agent market, but not to the extent of building a legit 2020 contender. Not the time. Also, the top free agents that the BJs would need to vault into minimum 80 win level will be in high demand. FA is not really providing wins at high efficiency for these types of players, not when you look at the contract duration and the expectation of negative value in the later years eg tulo, martin
  23. Agree with the last statement. But disagree with going all in with the goal of contending in 2020. Significant financial risk with FA signings, which is why teams generally wait until the team is further along the win curve before tapping heavily into the FA market.
