Biggio/Gurriel are prime candidates to be moved for more pitching. Bring up Kevin Smith for 3B.
If you noticed, Biggio is not part of the Vlad, Springer, Teo, Bo, Gurriel posse, so probably him.
First Martin drops to the Jays at #5 then gets traded in what appears to be a lopsided deal. There's something there.
I suspect the deal was made in part to keep Berrios from the Rays.
Got to wonder if after a year of SWR and Martin the valuations of both has declined, SWR projecting as a back of rotation guy and Martin an OBP guy with limited power and average defense.
That's the only explanation I can think of, barring a Berrios extension at a reasonable price.
Quite an overpay unless the Jays and Berrios have an agreement in principle on an extension. Saw a report mentioning teams had been talking to Berrios agent.
If no extension, this was a bad move IMO
