    Agree that would be insane and I question it. I can see contracts having to be screened by the player's association for compliance with the agreement, but not an executor of the contract. Fehr probably just intervened and convinced A-Rod not to sign.

    Every year there are complaints about the players at the tail end of the roster, whether it be the 5th starter (Matz), 4th OF (Grichuk), or whoever. These guys are at the tail end for a reason, they just aren't much better than average MLB'ers (or worse).

    Depends on whether one entirely attributes Rendon's struggles this year to physical ailments, or also the aging curve. If the former, make the trade, if the latter, don't.
