  1. No, he'll do OK but this is just part of his warmup for the Masters.
  2. Sticky picks: Emmanuel Rodriguez Elijah Green Spencer Jones Jace Jung Brock Porter Robert Snelling A good group of upside plays I really wanted Manzardo and in hindsight should have taken him before Rodriguez who probably would still have been available at my next pick
  3. A lot of late nights watching 1,000 Years B.C.
  4. I was 20 and the bars were ELECTRIC when the Jays were playing.
  5. I joined. 6 out of 15 spots taken so far
  6. good, shouldn't take more than 10 mins 5th round is throwing darts, blind
  7. First option, easily. Teo is a free agent after this season, and we got controllable assets back. Rodon contract is likely going to be a disaster after a few years, or even this year (whenever his next serious injury occurs).
  8. Mahle is in the same boat as Montas. Shoulder injury, but it was decided to rest it as opposed to a procedure. He too might be going under the knife if the rest didn't work. Rest vs. surgery not an easy call.
  9. Yep it's time for a best ever debate again 1. Gordie Howe Remember, he played in the low scoring era Goals Gretzky - 894 (high scoring era) Ovechkin - 812 (high scoring era) Howe - 801 (low scoring era) MVP Gretzky - 8 Howe - 6 By comparison with peers, the debate is really between Howe and Gretzky. The difference to me is Howe scared the s*** out of everyone when he was on the ice, and dropped the gloves whenever needed, Gretzky scared no one.
  10. This site is interesting. Says DiMaggio in 1949 was first https://sabr.org/research/article/mlbs-annual-salary-leaders-since-1874/ Another record for Babe Ruth, 14 yrs as the highest paid MLB player. A-Rod next at 12 yrs.
  11. My memory may be off..... googling now edit - yep I'm completely out to lunch
  12. johnny bench was the first to break the $100,000 barrier, and this was 1975 i believe
  13. Such a pessimist. Jays offense is similar, pitching is slightly better, and runs saved has gone way up. Run differential will go up and outcome in close games should move more in Jays favour.
  14. Baseball rule changes are at a reasonable balance for now, but more changes are coming. Roboumps are a matter of time and will be a fundamental shift. The pendulum will then swing back towards control/command pitchers and funky pitchability guys like Cimber and away from the pitchers that throw hard in the general vicinity of the plate. Roboumps will mean more balls in play, less Ks.
  15. There usually are a bunch of prediction threads starting in March, sometimes a poster puts up a reward for closest prediction.
  16. I've learned to only approach you with a trade when I'm trying to sell a player on the downside of his career.
  17. No diving catches this year, please George
  18. One thing we all know is King is a massive Alex Ramirez fanboy
  19. i was going to take him at 3-3 but thought he was being overlooked and took the risk he would slip to 4-3
  20. Welcome, mate. Have a great day!
  21. I have minimal interest in this exhibition. I doubt I will watch any of it.
  22. Everything evolves, baseball is no different. When baseball started, there were no planes, no television / internet, etc. The closest thing to remaining the same is the Catholic Church. And we know how that's going.
  23. 44 picks until your turn, lol
  24. Ah I see this was directed at me. For the record, its the commish's decision on what to do. If the commish decides the draft is to continue, it would be inappropriate for me to then hold things up for 12 hrs or whatever. I would have been fine with rewinding the draft, erasing my pick, and pausing until Eze had a chance to pick. Again, not my call.
  25. You giving up on baseball now?
