Nah, I don't think photos showing him kissing a girl means the end of his MLB career. There may or may not be additional evidence. That's why I keep saying to you guys, let the process play out before passing a verdict.

I suspect Bauer will be back in MLB next season. Bauer essentially admitted that the rough sex took place, the dispute was only whether consent was given / not given for some acts. In the case of Franco, he has not admitted anything. I doubt his career would be finished over photographs showing him kissing a girl.

Presumption of innocence, folks. Just like with Bauer, have to let the process play out. I'm always surprised at the number of people that assume someone is guilty just based off news reports / twitter.

Time will tell. Tampa Bay Times update from an hour ago: A 17-year-old girl, according to the newspaper, initially came forward but is no longer cooperating. The 17 yr old is the other girl, so it would appear to be back to just the original complainant. Gotta let the process play out, man. Ignore the twitter clickbait.

A complaint is not evidence. In the Bauer issue, two other woman came forward with allegations. Ultimately he was not charged. Time will tell in this one.

You have evidence otherwise? Find and show the receipts then (you would be wasting your time, there are none). I have never rushed to judgement on these things. As you posted yesterday, due process. This is also an interesting intersection of law and cultural norms in two countries, USA and DR. A tricky navigation for MLB. The age of consent in Germany and a number of other European countries is 14. Not relevant to the matter, but just shows the problem for MLB in applying its policies to events that happen outside the USA/Canada.

Possibly. There are also allegations, which is not evidence. In any event, I was responding to BTS saying the photos are enough to permaban Franco. By the way, why were you so adamant that Bauer is innocent, and now just as adamant that Franco is guilty?

I have never and will never suggest connorp seeks out and uses what was suggested. A joke but this is the internet, agencies have scans working 24/7 to find pedo related stuff.

The problem with this is it becomes open season for extortion of MLB players, if all it takes to put their career at risk is a couple of photos. MLB has to consider the impact of any precedent it chooses to set.

Are you sure it is unambiguous that Wander f***ed the girl? Do you have video showing his face or tat during an act of penetration? All I've seen is a picture showing Wander with a girl and references to extortion attempts.

Depends on the actual facts, not stuff on social media. You properly used the word "accused" which is all there is at this point.

The laws in the DR are very loosely enforced. But, MLB will strictly enforce its policies, not wanting to run the risk of an incident in the USA. So if the reporting is true and the girl's parents agreed to Wander dating their daughter, Wander still gets a lengthy suspension, minimum. I doubt his MLB playing days are over, unless the DR charges and convicts him (extremely unlikely).
