  1. Again, there isn't a single other player with similar speed that wouldn't have slid into the bag.
  2. Which Lawrie did and Dejesus did not. Anyway, it's part of the game, it just so happens that Lawrie is disliked while no one cares about Dejesus
  3. There isn't a single player with similar speed to Lawrie that wouldn't have slid in that situation. It was the momentum he had that caused his spike to go up. I just rewatched the Dejesus slide and it may have been worse because Travis actually stepped away from the bag and Dejesus slid toward him. Anyway...
  4. Exactly what Lawrie and Dejesus were trying to do, it's just fun to point out to the Lawrie haters that it wasn't a dirty play and they shouldn't let their bias get in the way, but that's not gonna work.
  5. It's quite ridiculous how so many runners slide completely away from the base and into fielders yet no complains, but anyway... I said, anyway...
  6. 1 cleat was high from Lawrie and I thought Dejesus' cleats were high as well. In fact, most of those slides to break up DP's end up with cleats being high. The accusation from the Royals' announcers are ludicrous. The real issue is actually that Lawrie slid late. Anyway....
  7. You forgot to include the probable top 5 picks for stinking in 2013 and 2014 so add another top talent. Plus, doubt they would've traded for Donaldson given they would've stuck with their rebuilding plan sub in Lawrie, Graveman, Nolin and Barreto coming fast. Alright, let's move forward.
  8. Right after wasting Halladay's prime. Team should stick to a rebuilding plan instead of changing course half way through it 'cause ratings might go down for a year or 2.
  9. I don't know, Lawrie's a tool, but Dejesus did something similar to Travis. Not to say 2 wrongs make a right, but the fact that Lawrie's not liked by some makes it worse.
  10. How long till someone bumps the "Bautista is in decline" thread?
  11. I knew you'd be back Arnold. I never said they shouldn't have won, but you could say the same about games when they gave up 2, 3, 4 runs.
  12. Or you could say you can't blame the pitching in a game the offense needed to "step up". The offense had chances yesterday to score more runs. See? It works both ways. We knew this team had an iffy pitching staff, but I think they'll do better than they have so far. The offense has been hot and cold, I'm sure they'll get more consistency going.
  13. Exactly. With a couple of hits here adn there, they could've won a couple of games they lost. We'll see what happens.
  14. I meant in terms of reactionary threadz. I'm in no way saying I'd fire the hitting coach. I'm not for firing Pete Walker either. Hutchison was a bit unlucky and wild yesterday, but I liked the spike in K's we saw. Stay calm...
  15. Remember though, they've been hot or cold at the plate; one day they score a bunch, the next they struggle. How many losses do you attribute to the offense?
  16. I've pointed this out before and it's one thing that gives me some hope for Sanchez improving as the year goes by. Stroman developed a sinker and Hutchison either developed or improved his slider during the course of last season. Norris learned a new changeup in ST which already looks good. Sanchez is working on a slider, but hasn't used it much, if at all, in games so far. I'm actually surprised we haven't seen a "fire Jacoby" thread yet.
  17. They lost games this week when they pitched well, but the offense was in a funk. Tough one...keep calm.
  18. Rays are solid once again, if the Jays aren't winning s*** this year, I sure don't mind rooting for them.
  19. I'm rooting for him as that type of player, maybe even DSJ (if he makes it as a 2B). Obviously, not as good as Zobrist, but your system needs to produce all sorts of players. This is one reason I was never that down on Gose or Pillar, but anyway...
  20. Speakin' of DSJ, he's off to a solid start at AA (big SSS warning). I wonder if they'll promote him to AAA if he's doing well after a month.
  21. So...when's Saunders's funeral? I haven't read/heard anything 'bout him in a bit. Just gose to show you how fast they forget'cha.
  22. Jansen with his first HR , and hit, of the season. I see Burns was promoted to Buffalo and is playing 2B there tonight. I was surprised he didn't start the season there after his strong 2nd half last year at NH.
  23. Surprise, surprise, Reyes is hurt. It seems kinda dumb that he didn't get a day off since he tweaked the rib last weekend.
