I'm hoping, despite all the hate he's getting, that Walker had at least a little to do with Stroman and Hutchison's improvements over the course of 2014 and he does the same with Sanchez and Norris. We've already seen Norris change the grip on his change-up to help him get righties out.
A lot of 'hoping' of course.
We'll see what happens.
So last time Gibbons sent him out for the 8th inning in a tie game, but today pulls him in the 7th up by 2.
Who knows what this guy is thinking.
I have no problem with this move, just to be clear.
I think Wolf has an opt out clause coming up on June 1st, unless he's called up so that could open up a spot.
They also plan on re-calling Castro.
Anyway. ..
I'm trying to get confirmation from sources, but Reyes might be back for the series finale vs Mariners.
He'll certainly be in uniform, it's just not clear whether he'll be activated tomorrow or Monday.
Edit: seems like this was posted already.
Of course this team stinks, it's missing its 2 starting OF, its 2 starting MIF, its starting RF has a bum shoulder and starting 3B has a sore calf....stay calm now.
Saunders went down, but was expected back in mid to late April. I do agree that they needed more OF depth during offseason, but not sure how much better a player than Carrera or Dickerson they could've signed at bargain prices.
I was in the camp that was against sending Pompey down after 23 games.
We'll see what happens...
As true as this might be, haha, please name the "credible above replacement level talent" that was available "when Saunders went down or even when he came back the 1st time".
During the offseason? Yes, legit criticism, but not "when" Saunders went down or "when he came back the 1st time".
Seems even less bright than me, as impossible as that may sound.
I wouldn't either, but I think their pursuit of Williams and then Duquette this past offseason strongly hints at them wanting AA out or at least with some oversight by a president with a baseball ops track record.
We'll see what happens!
Boyd so far: 7-IP, 3-H, 1-ER (HR), 1-BB, 8-K. Shouldn't this guy be in AAA already? I guess he's too old to be promoted or something.
Also, DSJ: 3-3, with a 2B.
Castro: 2-IP, 3-H, 0-BB, 1-K.
Reyes: 1-2.
Updated.

To each his own. Many here thought Santana was crap. I don't think it's a coincidence that Colon's last 2 teams were the A's and Mets, 2 teams that play in pitchers' parks.
I would definitely have preferred them signing FA than trading away prospects for expensive contracts. I just don't think it's as simple as some of you make it out to be.
Even Halladay didn't want to stay after the 2009 season.
Personally, I would've been fine with waiting for the farm to bear fruits as I just don't think the team was in a position to go for it after the 2012 season so I'm more concerned with long term organizational planning than anything else.
This team's first choice for team Prez this past offseason was Kenny Williams...hey, at least he's won a WS.
Another example of AA trying to sign FA was Santana last year. They had a deal, but Santana and his camp were probably praying for another team to match the Jays offer and got lucky with the Braves' sudden injuries and jumped on their offer.
